i'm pretty sure lebron knew a while back that PG would not be signing in LA and didn't expect to be teaming up with him

obviously it helps the lakers' chances a whole lot if there's another star coming with him but from what i'm seeing and hearing, lebron knew that star wouldn't be PG. will he still sign in LA without another star coming aboard? that's where i start to worry that philly has the upper hand with embiid and simmons

There was a report lebron knew "p....y p" was gonna resign with okc earlier this week and not sure if it was gonna affect his choice.

I read that report as saying LeBron doesn't need PG specifically to join the Lakers. I don't think the report is trying to say that LeBron will join the Lakers even if they sign no one else

If LeBron really didn't need us to sign anyone else and his mind was truly set on the Lakers, then there would be no need to meet with Philly today. There would be no reason to hide his decision when he could instead be helping to recruit players and improve our roster while it's still early in free agency.

The fact that LeBron has not announced his decision strongly suggests he's waiting to see if we can use our cap to sign two stars as per the original plan. I'm sure there are a couple of second stars he'd be happy with, but if he wanted to join us as is he would have done so already.

I'm not saying he will definitely join Philly if we fail to attract or trade for a second star, but he's keeping his options open for a reason and we are on the clock.

I advice you guys to operate on the presumption that we don't sign anybody of consequence in free agency. If we resign Lopez and to a lesser extent IT, I'm satisfied

lols it went from PG & LBJ to LA in 2018 CONFIRMED to

let's just re-sign randle, lopez, and IT

god what a sad, sad, sad several years it has been. honestly, if we can't land any big name FA's with rob and magic running the show then something is terribly wrong with the lakers as a franchise

Have to disagree. There are several credible reports that he has already made his decision. And that he has already informed his family and inner circle. The reason he hasn’t made it public is that he is using the announcement to promote one of his entertainment business projects. If I remember right it’s his Space Jam 2 movie. So if these reports are accurate the meetings with various teams have nothing to do with making a decision that is already made.

Now, that does not mean that he is not interested in our further moves. I’m sure he is. I have no doubt he has given Magic a list of his preferences.

Failing badly? They've done everything right so far. You can't force a guy to be smarter than he is. George took the dumber, easier way out. They can't predict for that.

Has LeBron signed anywhere? Have the kids suddenly vanished or been arrested? No
i agree. I believe this is still likely the case and obviously if someone does something crazy like trading for Kawhi, that's going to affect his decision, but for now things are still moving forward.

If we make a move where we trade the kids for Kawhi or we start taking on salary, we will know it's over for us this summer.

Fan's high expectations do not come to fruition most of the time. I had fun pre-FA period fantasizing about p**** P and LBJ as Lakers, now I accept the reality that we were a non-play-off team entering this season and not really attractive to FAs. I mean Lebron can still come for non-basketball reasons, Hollywood, his kids etc. Laker mystic but he would be the first to do so, maybe since Ron Artest.

You guys realize that Vegas still has us at lock level odds. He is coming. If you want to do the Chicken Little thing between now and Tuesday’s announcement, go ahead, but he is coming.

All logic went out the window when Paul George opted out of 70 million more dollars to go back to a team that won't be winning s*** anytime soon. Nothing makes sense anymore other than no one wants to play in LA and New York anymore.

i would think this current lakers team would be pretty attractive to FA's with the young and rising core they have

but then you see PG re-sign with a thunder team that's completely reliant on westbrook and with no young prospects and you realize just how much this generation of players values "bromance" and fun over winning. same crap we saw from dwight

if PG really cared about winning a title he would not have signed with a team that's built to lose in the 1st round of the playoffs and paying historic amounts of money to do so

In the event that latter part happens, I'll take on some expiring for picks and get Deng off the books with those picks included.

    See Jeremy Lin deal.

Come playoff time next year ... LBJ & Posse will take care of Laker Family business Corleone style ... first line will be to bounce that Candy a** PG from the playoffs!
