Not worth a max deal but if he's down for a 1-year "prove it" deal...that would actually work perfectly in terms of preserving cap space to get Kawhi and we keep the leverage on the spurs.

With Carmelo's imminent buyout, should I start an official Carmelo Anthony thread?

What year was it that we were desperate for Melo for Bynum?

What’s funny is, if he were actually willing to come here for the minimum and come off the bench as some instant offense, I’d be ok with it. He’d be no worse than IT. But he’s laughed at that idea, and current Melo doesn’t deserve to start over Ingram, so no, he’d have to do a complete 180 on what he thinks his role is with a team these days.

Hearing reports that we reached out, kicked the tires on Amir Johnson and his reps. Not a big fan of this. If we add another front court player to play the 5 I'd rather it be Brook or Boogie at this point.

Magic and Rob can still have an amazing offseason by doing the following:

    1) Dump Deng with future picks before we sign anyone (that way the picks remain slightly more valuable)

    2) Sign LeBron to a max deal (getting LeBron's commitment will be essential in accomplishing the next step)

    3) Sign Cousins to a 1+1 deal with a team option using the remaining cap room (this is essential to put pressure on the Spurs by preserving cap space in 2019)

    4) Resign Randle to a modest contract (likely possible due to the lack of suitors and how we would now have the beginnings of a contender)

    5) Resign Brook Lopez using the MLE (need insurance for Cousins)

Optional Later Step: If the opportunity presents itself, trade for Kawhi using the pressure of outright signing him next season without giving up Ingram. The Spurs can have Randle and a rookie or two, that's it.

The odds of this happening are slim, but it would definitely make for an amazing offseason.

If there’s anybody I’d trade the farm for, it’s that bad bad man.

Pincus was on ESPN710 just now saying next year there'll be a lot of money available. Here's the new plan:

    1) Sign LeBron.
    2) Trade Deng to Atlanta with 2 1sts and 2 2nds.
    3) Sign DeMarcus to a 1+1 max with a team option.
    4) Sign Julius to a 1 year deal worth a solid amount or he takes the QO.
    5) Fill out the roster.

Spend the season trying to get to Kawhi. If not, we have one more max slot available next summer. Kemba Walker, Eric Bledsoe, Kyrie Irving, Goran Dragic, Klay Thompson, Kevin Love, Paul Milsap, Al Horford, Marc Gasol. Not a lot of ideal max guys, but guys we could spread the wealth to besides of course trying to bring in Kawhi or keep Cousins or Randle.

I love that plan, I’d do it in a heartbeat, roll with that roster and see what happens. All depends I think if Cousins is willing to accept that sort of deal to prove himself, and if some team doesn’t sign Randle to an offer sheet we can’t/don’t want to match. Here’s hoping.

Here's that Amir Johnson rumor. How strange. I actually think Amir is solid, but I mean who cares really unless LeBron asked for him for some reason.

Doesn’t make a lot of sense, but I’d guess they’re probably reaching out to a LOT of players for a vet min deal. Randle insurance? Kuz, Wagner insurance in case players go out in a trade? Dunno.

No, no, not happening, no, YES, no, no, no, no.

Other than that, use the money on one of our kids unless that YES even considers us or wants to step out on his own from the Hamptons Five.

He isn't bad. Big body off the bench; gives some rebounding and rim protection.

    Interesting.

That list, other than Klay Thompson makes me gag. And Klay isnt leaving GSW. No freakin way. If they 3-peat, he isnt passing up a chance to 4-peat. And even if they dont win it, they have 5 years left to win titles.

I don't know about trading the farm...but that man is bad. Could you imagine p**** P saying anything remotely non-PC?

Btw, PC sure sounds a whole lot like P****, don't it?

Kemba is good. I'd like him. I'd also take Milsap or Horford as well.

Heard about Walker... Didn't James approved of him being drafted by MIami? Something like that? Milsap is OK but I assume we keep Randle. Horford isn't leaving where he is.

    Thompson is PIPE...
