So he confirms that he's opting in....which kinda sucks cause that would have depreciated the market for Jules even more had he been available.

Idk the pieces yet; but given the right personnel, I want BL back.

That free agency cash pool is starting to look shallow.

Sac, with Bagley now on the books, has 18M in cap space....perfect for...

Definitely and it makes a ton of since given what we need or what best would surround PG/LBJ and even Randle if he's still around (hopefully).

We do really need a backup PG as well. If he wasn't under contract I think Patrick Beverley would have been perfect for us.

He's hinted he would take a cut to stay with a star studded team and I think he'd be an underrated addition to a team with stars on it.

He showed last year that he's willing to fit himself into the role the team needs. I'm all in Brook back for the Room Exception if we get our two max guys.

I personally will not although I think the odds of him getting here are low.

Ok, so, let's say Lebron and Paul George both verbally commit. What happens then? Lebron can make 35 and George makes 25, that's 60 mil just in those guys, do they have to then let Randle go to cover the remaining money?

I remain hopeful of the Heatles and Warriors type deals from James himself and Kevin freaking Durant plus now PG who shares JR's agent .... to keep the rosters intact for KILLER depth.

I think George makes 30. And I believe once those guys are signed we can give Randle whatever we want and go over the cap because he’s our player. But I could be wrong. I think Randle is only out of the question or incredibly hard to pull off if you get LeBron, PG, AND Kawhi.

Pretty sure we'll need PG and Bron to each take about $2M less per year to allow us to sign Randle. We can go over the cap to sign Julius, but have to be under before. I'm hoping Mintz is working this out between Jules and PG, and then PG relays this to Lebron.

    :Lonzoreally:

We've discussed this ad nauseam bro...but since its you...

I'll take this dance hopefully for the last time...just let me lead this time...

    Bron max = 35.4
    PG max = 30.3

We need 66m in cap to fit both them dudes in.

LA's salary cap as of right now is 39m (Deng, Zo, BI, Kuz, Hart)
Jule's cap hold (before he gets his new contract) is 12m

So with Jules on the books, LA has a team salary of 51M and that means we have only 50m in cap space (salary cap projected at 101m)

So either Bron and George will have to take a substantial pay cut or we will have to remove Deng's contract (18m) from the books completely.

Cause even if we stretch Deng (7.4) that only opens up about 11m more in cap for a total of 61m in cap space. I think its possible to convince Bron/PG to take a paycut of 2.5m each from their respective maxes, but at this point, you can't assume they would unless they absolutely demand that Jules remain on the roster.

if PG and lebron are both coming, the lakers should just give up whatever it takes to dump deng in the form of picks. give them the billy king special. you're essentially trading those picks for julius randle and the avoidance of 5 years of dead salary.
