Dallas is definitely up to something, I just hope we can get into the mix and exploit it for our benefit (ie S&T Jules and/or dumping Deng).

Yeah Dallas is making moves and I believe it's got to be for DJ or Cousins...or Capela/Randle/Gordon.

I'd say Randle is last on their list but the most realistic...

ATL still projects to have roughly 20M in cap space....just enough for....

That's my "system" ;), let's hope it works (even though im not that high on getting George).
I feel like I should step away from this site and internet in general. Catching up will take me weeks though, especially if we finally strike gold this summer.

it's also just enough for Randle...but hopefully it'll be to absorb Deng + 2 picks!

there's been buzz about a DJ opt-in and trade for a few days, but folks were pessimistic it would get done. there's also been talk of cousins. this seems more likely to be about the latter, by my guess.

Trying my best. My brain is boiling from all this conflicting reports. We'll either be very, very happy or very f***ing pissed/sad. No middle ground this year...

To be fair, if the end of the story is we keep all the youngsters and just add maybe Cousins on a short term big deal... that's not the end of the world. I can deal with that. It'll be disappointing for sure, but we still get to root for these kids.

If PG does end up staying in OKC and we end up with Bron, Kawhi and Boogie...not going to lie, that might be a better dynamic down the line (again, health willing).

If from the rumors/possibility of bron, Pg, Kawhi we end up with one legged Cousins, I'll be pretty disappointed. Still better than signing stars like Mozdeng though ;)

Yeah I was going to say if we end up with LeBron, Kawhi and Cousins...that could end up being a way better trio than LeBron, Kawhi and PG13...and better balance on the roster with Cousins being our center who can stretch the floor, LeBron at the 4, and Kawhi at the 3 with Hart and Lonzo at 2 and 1...

Bron/Kawhi/Boogie is much more realistic too..

Jules S&T, BI, Kuz, Hart, Zu, TB, future 1sts, Moe, Svi, Bonga (not saying that's the package, but at the most this is what we can offer which can compete with any other team's best offer for a rental) for Kawhi
    Max out Bron

Bron (35.4), Kawhi (20), Zo (7.5), Deng stretch (7.4) = about 70M in total team salary (about 31M in cap space)
Boogie's max is 30.3M, so you can give him a near max on a 1+1 make good deal. You can even have NOP do a S&T with us so that they get a TPE and Boogie retains his bird rights.

Minimal reliance on other teams and minimal cap hoops to jump through.

I don't even think we need to give Boogie the full max because there's almost no market for him to get the max at this very moment...even his own team isn't trying to give him a max deal!

But yeah a 1+1 deal "prove it" deal for Boogie would make a ton of sense....

    Cousins
    LeBron
    Kawhi
    Whoever
    Lonzo

What is the infatuation with popped achilles Boogie Cousins, never noted for his finer consistent defense with 2 intact tendons and what other advantages over Randle who is getting seriously like this more every year .....

..... and more than offsets whatever the heck that is by having a better head, a better work ethic and every single other thing that Julius does way better than Cousins?? Such as be just being stronger and tougher pound for pound and can handle and run the floor like Boogie only in an Avatar dream. Don't **** this up with any of our young talent, especially for a head and now physical (?) case like Cousins.

spending more on Cousins than we are willing to spend on Randle would be a head scratcher for sure.

But being a 7'er that can shoot the 3 is what it is...

I'm high on Randle as anybody but if you can get a prime Boogie and he comes back from the injury and resembles anything of what he was last year? It's an absolute coup for us.

You're talking about having potentially the best big man in the league, paired with the best player in the league and the best 2-way player in the league...basically you'll have 3 of the top 10 players in the game on the same team. You don't say no to that.
