Magic just gave himself a 2 year Buss pass. Difference between Jimmy and himself, I have complete confidence Magic will keep his job at the end of the summer next year. And yes Magic...it is ridiculous...but hatahs gunna hate.

Had Jordan said the same thing they’d be like “ha ha, that’s just MJ!”. But Magic can’t say that? One of the most successful athletes on and off the court of all time? Please.
Sure sounds like a guy that knows something...don't it? Lot of pressure to deliver... But then again, he's lived with one of the most deadliest autoimmune diseases ever for over 2 decades, so feeling pressure?....yeah, I doubt it.

There’s not a doubt in my mind that magic and Rob will get a star in here before these 2 offseasons are up. If it’s not via free agency it will be via trade because we have drafted actual assets that other teams want. I don’t have any doubt that they will deliver, even if it’s not the way we might have expected, and even if it costs some of the kids in the end, they will make us a playoff team again at least. That’s all I’m hoping for right now, to be GOOD again. Yes a championship is the ultimate goal, but you have to start with being good first, which we haven’t been for 5 years.
ok, i'll be the pessimist: i don't like the "next summer" stuff. almost makes me feel like he knows nothing's happening this summer, and we get another year of one-year deals and wait til next time. that said, at least we know there won't be a 2020 plan. now let's just hope we don't get mozdeng II.
I'm cautiously pessimistic on this too...as both Rob and Magic have been downplaying expectations for this summer since February. I think that the reason they keep mentioning next year? Tampering. That's the only thing I can think of...they want to make it seem like hey, there's no guarantee from any free agents that they'll come play for us...so we will put our best foot forward but we can't guarantee anything... I think they HAVE to say this to give the perception that they really are not sure about FA's and they need to sell them on playing for the Lakers when July 1st hits...now whether that's the case or not, we'll never know. But I'm willing to bet Magic and Rob know SOMETHING but they don't want to give the perception that they do...cuz saying "we'll DEFINITELY get someone this summer" could imply that we already know who we're getting Of coruse, if we were the Rockets...or any other team int he league...none of this would matter. We could probably hit up LeBron on Twitter and ask if he will opt-in and nobody will blink an eye cuz it's the Rockets...not the Lakers.
I would assume both Magic and Jennie would step down as promised. But look at it this way, we haven't been on ESPN's radar since like 2012. They know it's coming, the hate pieces are finally starting to resurface so they can start click baiting their articles again from triggered fans. No matter...Showtime 2.0 is coming.
I admire you for keeping the anti-jinx going this hard. I can’t wait for us to sign 2 max guys this offseason so you can finally drop it and celebrate with the rest of us like you deserve. Even if we don’t, there will be no MozDeng part 2, never again, we’d punt with 1 year deals like KCP, or we’d trade for a star. There’s no way Magic and Rob are not landing us a star in some form. My guess is it’s actually this summer with LeBron and George and like fabfour said, all this talk is just in case, and to play dumb to avoid tampering. If LeBron and George are coming, I believe we already know because all we have to do is communicate with them through KCP to Paul to LeBron, and Randle to Mintz to George.
Agreed 100%. The talk to me sounds more like leverage play against Kawhi as they continue to monitor that situation.
