I was looking at Stanley Johnson's measurements; 6'7.5 without shoes almost a 6'11' wingspan and weighed 243 at the Nike academy; 19 years old. Very sound fundamentally on defense; shows good lateral quickness, great IQ, closes out fantastic which is the hardest thing to do on defense, always in the proper stance, fights through screens, etc; offensively, he has shown me an ability to navigate the pick in roll recently; makes nice reads, patient, and makes the proper play.

I remember reading ESPN Insider; they said what would translate; rebounding, and his steals. I also think his shooting would carry over, too. I bring this up because of last night; Klay Thompson, Lebron James, Kevin Durant, James Harden, and these great wings that play in the NBA today, the style of play up-tempo, ability to switch pick in rolls, etc...he could slide in as the future SF with Clarkson; guard the bigger wings, space the floor, you could run the pick in roll in either direction with him and or Clarkson which could be devastating or even run Randle/Johnson PNR.

    Just my thoughts...

Kris Dunn? Could be in the 2nd Round.

I wish there was some footage out there of George Lucas. He has me very intrigued based on his scouting report and measurements. Might be a great pick with the Houston pick.

So, we have our 4th, 26th, 34th, and 53rd pick; by the way, 2 of those picks came in the Lin deal. I think somebody suggested we trade our 2nd rounder and Houston pick to move up; I'm all for that if it's for Dekker for example.

Also, I think I opt to trade up and can you include Hill? We have his BIRD rights, so say a team wants him at 6 million per for 4 years? Can you include him in an S&T? It'd look something like

Hill/1st Round pick/2nd round pick? How far can you move up? I'd explore that option.

draft express currently has dekker and hollis-Jefferson just out of the lakers' reach with the Houston pick. I'd like to nab either guy at that spot; both look like good pros to me.

I think some of these guys will slip down a bit. Every year talented players end up falling to later in the draft for a variety of reasons. Clarkson is a great example of that.

Hmmm...I just realized that if Orl lands in the 5th spot and the top 4 picks go as projected (some order of okafor, Towns, Russell, Mudiay), who would they possibly take over Stanley Johnson? You don't pass him up at 5 IMO. That means Harris might be more available to poach as RFA...maybe?

WCS could fit next to Aaron Gordon. A defensive minded big.

Payton/Olapido/Harris/Gordon/Stein is a decent young core.

That's an excellent defensive lineup! I love WCS, but not at 5. I don't know if anyone would take him that low. There are surprises every draft, so we'll see.

Well, they did pick Gordon at 4 over Exum. So yeah, who knows, but WCS imo, would the right choice for them, as he's probably the 3rd best center in the draft, maybe next to Porzingis.

I don't see Johnson in the future plans of Orlando. They'd have 3 dudes at the sf spot. Gordon was a surprise pick, as Harris had a pretty decent year last season. I think they go WCS as well, but maybe at pf? Vucevic is their center. He'll get the max from them in all likelihood. 19/11 centers don't grow on trees.

They'd go with Cauley-Stein for sure. Vucevic/Cauley-Stein is a solid young PF/C combination.

If Vucevic is starting with WCS, he better develop a mid-range game or else there is no spacing within that offense whatsoever.

Sitting here watching this GS game; loving Green's game. The more I watch his game I think of Stanley Johnson; Green could defend all 4 positions hit the 3, play passing lanes causing TO's; honestly, I'm starting to become more inclined to go with Johnson if we fall outside of the top 3. Why not? He'd be better in his first year than Wesley every was or is currently. Although, I still love WCS, and my mind constantly changes throughout the season...hahahaha.

^^ I feel the same Randle ROFY. Definitely feeling Stanley Johnson if we miss out on the two bigs. We are desperate for a starting caliber SF.

I so agree. Johnson has his limitations, but he could work on his game and improve; he's only 19. Plus, I have a special affinity for athletes who grew up in state of CA. Just a personal thing...

By the way, programming note; Stanley is on TNT tomorrow at 2:10 Eastern Standard time; Russell is one right after on the same station
