He's definitely got PG skills, but I'm not 100% sure he's an NBA PG. It might make more sense to slot him as a forward who has guard skills although in our offense, it doesn't matter that much.
He wouldn't be in summer league. Has been in the G-League (name now) for many years. And players don't play SL after their 2nd year I believe.

Not sure if your kidding or not, but this is like the 3rd or 4th time I've heard someone say this. This is not a rule and does happen where players outside of their 2nd year play in Summer League. If Andre doesn't play it will because he didn't want to or that we didn't ask him.
It would be unusual to see Andre at Summer League. Summer League is used primarily for the young guns and that definitely doesn't apply to Andre. I think sometimes you have old guys trying to make a comeback or come over from overseas, but that's not typical. You're right though that there isn't a rule as far as I know.
Here is some more info. Info is a couple of years old, but I don't think things have changed since then. There actually are some restrictions, but they almost never come into play. No more than 4 vets on any given summer league team. Vets cannot be required to participate in summer league, nor can their contracts contain bonuses for participating in summer league. (Technically, the contract can contain the bonus, but if the player qualifies as a vet--see below--it would be automatically granted regardless of whether he played in summer league or not.) If a vet chooses to play in summer league, they need to sign a form acknowledging that they're doing it of their own free will, and that the team will not in any way prejudice or disadvantage the player if they elect not to participate. The definition of "vet" for this purpose is a little idiosyncratic, as well. A player must meet at least one of the following 4 conditions; if they don't, they are considered a "vet" for this purpose (and this purpose only): The player is not currently under contract. (Yes, even a player with 10 years of NBA experience would not be considered a vet if they're not under contract.) The player has never signed an NBA contract, or has just signed their first contract (scheduled to begin in the immediately following season). The player is under contract, but missed at least 25 games due to illness or injury the previous season. The player played in the D-league for any portion of the previous season. Eligible, yes, however I believe a team can only require a player to go for his first two years. It's really meant to evaluate young players and players looking for a job.
