Actually, I agree with Real. Kobe going to the games mentoring Clarkson and some other guys isn't going to affect wins and losses on this team. Honestly, I could pick a 10 more legitimate things to criticize Byron for and this isn't one of them...
i know others have speculated on this, but i really think kobe will play beyond next year. he has been giving more and more hints lately. idk maybe im just blinded by my love for the guy haha but i really think he will be back at least another yr or 2 after the next one
Kobe talked to the media tonight. Here's the transcript http://www.nba.com/lakers/150310_kobebryant?cid=tw

Sports Center on at the moment with looks to be a good interview with Kobe with a female ex or current player (?) Am across the room and cannot hear. May have just ended or only a commercial break.
At this point, he was talking about critics who say he shoots the ball too much: “I’ve shot too much from the time I was eight years old. But ‘too much’ is a matter of perspective. Some people thought Mozart had too many notes in his compositions. Let me put it this way: I entertain people who say I shoot too much. I find it very interesting. Going back to Mozart, he responded to critics by saying there were neither too many notes or too few. There were as many as necessary.” Kobe on critics who say he shoots too much: 'Too much' is a matter of perspective. There were as many as necessary.
^ "...and then, when they try to stop you with a double team, split the defense and hit a fadeaway jumper like this..."
Can you even imagine. 5 times champion, 17 times All Star, 3rd all time scoring, living legend Kobe Bryant is sitting on the bench next to you in real game time showing you stuff. Legends of all the skills Kobe and Nash both working with him. If he's truly a bright guy with the right stuff and works his butt off....and can stay healthy rest of season, summer league and off season, Lakers camp and pre-season games..... he might come for start of next season in pretty spectacular form. Calling this now. Jordan and Julius are tight. I bet Jordan winds up working out with Julius and Kobe multiple times. What's not to love for Kobe as both these players have potential to develop "elite" skills for their positions.
I agree. I think with the last two seasons being robbed from him, he wants to play longer. And if we get Okafor and him and Randle battle it out for RoY honors and Clarkson continues to develop next season at the same clip, he will stick around...especially if Durant were to come. And I also think Kobe would take a lot less if he continued. I think even he realizes this two year deal was his thank you/going away present. If he wants to continue playing, it would be on the Lakers' terms.
No I believe. Did Bif get hurt before the season started his rookie year or similar to Randle? You'd think they would classify Julius as a rook next year with only 1 game appearance this year.
No Kobe, that analogy doesn't quite work. There have been many times when it wasn't falling and you have shot too much. Mozart wasn't taking away notes from other people when he was writing them. If you want to say, your entire career of work is your masterpiece and that you had to shoot that much night in and night out to achieve it, ok, but it's a pretty weak argument. Better just to say, yeah I shoot too much sometimes and leave it alone. This is the kind of narcissism that fuels the Kobe hate, as if he isn't capable of honest self-reflection, that he's trapped in the Kobe bubble.
