    Well, ideally we could get rid of Deng either this year or next without having to give up Zo or BI. Next season would be easier him being an expiring.

    We could then at least still afford one of George or Lebron and still have cap space next summer.

    That was what Rob and Magic alluded to in an interview this season right? Having flexibility this and next summer no matter what happens.

    If they wanted Zo and BI for Kawhi, their wouldn't be a bulldozer to stop me from doing that. You get Kawhi before free agency, you will get Lebron and Paul George. Lakers then are set to run this league. However, the Spurs aren't likely to go from this drama to having to deal with the Ball drama. My guess is the Spurs would ask for BI and Kuzma and fillers. THAT would burn a little losing Kuzma but you have to make that trade. Kawhi is a star just hitting his prime. You would have George in his prime and Lebron who has at least 2-3 years left to play at a high level. You have to make that trade.

    The draft and FA are almost upon us. How do we cover ourselves from a Nash 2.0 situation with deepest of due diligence to get to the bottom of his injury and where it's likely to be going forward in this compressed time period? Doesn't concern you that there's no careful and thorough way to figure this all out without the tampering charges before the draft?

    Sigh, I hear it, but damn that seems like one piece too many. I tie Zo to Deng regardless of the package, which may have to go to a different trade scenario not involving Kawhi.

    Considering that article in the other thread about the mysterious condition of Kawhi s injury, that’s more leverage for the Lakers and that’s how I argue Zo+BI+Deng or Zo+Kuz+Deng. Kuz and BI are not going in the same package. A second unit with Kuz, Hart and maybe IT (sorry) would be my preference. I just threw IT in there because I can’t think of anyone else at the moment to plug in there.

    Honestly, if they take Deng, I'll take their box of poo. I'd then bronze that poo and put it next to our championship trophies as it would rank right up there in terms of Laker victories.
