Has Woj always hated us, or is it just since he joined ESPN? I don’t remember him ever throwing commentary into stuff, only him reporting things.

But the biggest deterrent is where's the leverage?

CP3 was able to walk into roughly 19M last year cause Houston had cap. He threatened that he would sacrifice 5M (24M opt in) to just join Houston and the cLips would have nothing to show for it. He successfully had Houston trade for him and his bird rights (btw where's the tampering allegations?), but Houston needed cap to make it happen.

If Bron really wants to play with CP3 in Htown, then either CP3 (and Ariza) need to take vet mins/split the tax payer MLE after Morey renounces their bird rights or...wait there is no or. That's the only way they can do it.

Houston renouncing all their players except Capela (7M caphold) and stretching Anderson gives them 73M in team salary, so not even a max slot to give Bron. However, they can renounce Capela and get to 66M in team salary, which is just enough cap to give Bron the max. But then no Capela, CP3 and Ariza.

Again....a Bron trade to a Houston team that was 1 win away from the Finals, needs leverage. Leverage needs Houston cap space. Houston has none (unless they blow that team up). Hence no leverage for Bron.

    RIP Abeerstrodamus's crystal ball

He is one of the few people who said Brony lacks character in the media.

LeBron to LA with PG and retaining Randle and rest of our Best young players (if we pull it off) is worse for the league. Especially if Lopez stays. IMO.

He was always very anti-Lakers when Kobe was playing and we were trying to attract FAs. Most would say he was just being blunt, but he was relentlessly so. He has zero love for the Lakers.

I have no source on this at all, it's just an assumption, but remember when he had an in with every team and had information before everybody else besides the Lakers? I think he always resented that Mitch and Jim kept him at arm's length like everyone else.

And If I'm Dan, I take nothing. I'm not paying 100 million for some late 1sts and a couple bad contracts. Thanks LeBron!

Ah, that’s right. I do remember him breaking stuff for pretty much every team, but never really or us. It was always local reporters with us if anyone.

I thought we were talking about which roster would be better between the 2 scenarios. LA with those players mentioned or Houston with what's left of the roster? LeBron can go where he wants to go.

So then Dan says fine, I'll deal with the Lakers. They can provide me with future draft assets and a fat trade exception (not too different from the same package I got from Riles) when you "decided" to go there.

Btw, the "filler" isn't as easy to come by in your trade package. If Gilbert doesn't want Anderson's contract (and rightfully so), then Houston would have to trade all their contracts (outside of Harden of course) and still wouldn't have enough outgoing salary to trade for Bron. Morey would have to go fringe player shopping with cash like he did during the CP3 trade last summer and only then would have enough "filler" to bring back Bron.

However, I can see Gilbert signing off on a S&T'd Capela/Gordon/future draft assets for Bron. That way, Gilbert will be hard capped at the apron and it will give him a valid excuse to stop spending (or even shedding contracts).

But would Morey and Bron agree to that?

Why would the Lakers need to deal for him at all and want to give any talent up?

I live about 2 miles from Sierra Canyon High School. It’s THE school for the rich and famous. But it would be a serious drive from Brentwood where his two mansions are located.

I actually think Dan is a big enough a-hole and idiot that he’d rather let LeBron walk or take crap from Houston than help us out. This is after all, the guy whose b****ing was major factor in the CP3 trade getting vetoed.
