Regarding Rondo, this is all speculation with LeBron and PG signing in mind for me. And for better or for worse, when LeBron joins your team, it becomes his team. So Rondo will either be a good teammate and play along, or LeBron will get you out of here. So I’d have to think if Rondo actually signed here, that he’d know what he was coming here for. Also, ad least when Rondo yells at people on defense he knows what he’s taking about and not passing blame because he can’t guard his own shadow. You may be right on Carter, but it was just an example, I think there are multiple other options in the draft at that position still.

would anyone consider doing this trade if we knew pg/james is in the bag?

bi/deng to chi for 7th with assumption that bamba or jjj fell to 7th. give reddick 2yrs 30mill (15 per)

    ball
    reddick
    pg/kuz
    james
    jjj or bamba
this should still leave enough $ to bring back lopez if he takes a paycut, use 25th on a pg/combo guard

I don't believe Bamba will be ready to compete as a Finals piece next season. Lopez would be mandatory.

I'd be very tempted though. I absolutely love Bamba and I think he has the opportunity to be the best player from this draft. To me he looks like Mutombo and apparently has a reworked jumper he is comfortable with. The key for him will be putting on enough strength so he can roll to the rim in the NBA with authority. He's still a year or two away from that I think. The danger with a guy like him is him falling in love with the pick and pop. Stretch bigs is great, but you still need to be able to dive and someone with his gifts should space the floor vertically.

Well-said; and our roster needs a lob target. The spacing provide because of the way you can threaten a defense helps a lot...we have seen it with Mcgee and Capela...

That's why I'm thinking about DeAndre Jordan so much. I don't particularly love Jordan, but he's a perfect dive candidate. Having LeBron, George, Ingram, and Ball to space and move with a legitimate diver is scintillating.

Lebron wanted DJ this past trade deadline; that was his first target. I know many don't like Jordan, but it wouldn't surprise me if Paul did something crazy (re-sign with OKC) if we don't turn our attention to Jordan.

    Just a thought...

We just all have to hope that Magic and Pelinka have the stones to tell Lebron no if he starts asking for stuff. If he want's his boy CP3 maxed out, then wants us to trade Lonzo and and a resigned Randle to the Clippers for DeAndre Jordan...Tell Lebron we are signing (or doing the trade/opt-in thing CP3 did last summer with Houston) Paul George. He is your running mate. We will trade one or two of the kids if it's for a legit star in the same age range as Paul George (ie Kawhi). If that's not enough for you. If you don't think Paul George and another star with Randle and Ingram is enough for you to get by the Warriors, then we'll shake your hand and wish you luck in Philly.

Strictly speculation on my part, but Savs I agree that you can't relent on all of Bron's demands. But you can meet him halfway.

Reading the tea leaves, Mag/Pelinka in the season ending presser did not entertain any questions about trading their youth and even had reports stating that some were untouchable.

Haynes then says that the Lakers were a hot name on Bron's short list, but since, he's cooled on them.

Then recently you have a report stating that everybody on the roster is open for trade discussions. And within a span of weeks, we went from 3rd in the Bron sweepstakes, to 1st in Vegas.

Also consider the rumors of Bron's kid joining a prep school in LA, only to be rapidly denied as a means of damage control.

I really believe the Lakers and these player agents are in the know, but don't want anything leaked due to the ever watchful tampering microscope that has been placed over them.

Btw, Thaddeus Young could be opting out and that should tell you enough about players wanting to play in Indy even in a projected frigid free agency period ...but yet another Deng dumping site and do we dare get back on the phone with Pritchard, especially when you consider the plethora of non-guaranteed contracts dude has at his disposal?

Also, Vegas odds for us in the Boogie sweepstakes:

The Cavs at 8 to 1 with no cap even if Bron leaves...maybe a Love trade is in the works?

Maybe Damian Lillard could become available if the Blazers realize they are going nowhere? I've seen other teams' reporters bring him up for their respective teams. If we got our hands on LBJ and Paul George, I'd definitely give Portland a call to gauge any interest. And I'd send out Lonzo, Kuzma with a first rounder to get him here (they'd have to take Deng to make salaries work).

    Lillard
    PG
    Ingram
    LBJ
    Randle

Have fun dealing with that lineup.

This isn't out of nowhere either.

I'm probably in the minority, but if we don't keep JR, and re-sign Brook, I'd probably go after Noel; but only with a minimum contract. Also, provided we don't pursue DJ; on the request of LBJ.

Maybe Noel can be our Javale Mcgee???

Noel for 2 mill?.. I'm down. Javelle is making peanuts himself. But he owes himself to the players on the warriors cause he'd be out of the league without them. Talent we all know isn't the issue.

I’d take a shot on Noel for that price. I didn’t want him in the past because people suggested trading Randle for him. But if the FO’s plan comes through, we will have LeBron and George, and cheap talent will be a must to fill out the roster. Noel is still young enough and athletic, worth taking a risk on. I don’t know if he’d take a minimum deal though, he thinks he’s worth way more than that.

so bogut's claiming that a) there are superteamS coming and b) it's all already decided.

the second part isn't as surprising as the first. superteamS means something we hadn't been discussing (lots of player movement). unless bogut's definition of a "superteam" isn't mine, but historically, that means at least 3 allstar caliber players. the league has one right now.
