LABron James Discussion: The Final Year?

You can renounce a rfa's qualifying offer by July 13th (So in Jules case 12.5M comes off our cap and he becomes an UFA kind of like the Pistons did KCP last summer). If by that time Jules has not signed an offer sheet with another team, he either can agree to a contract extension we offer him or becomes a 5.6M expiring deal to become a '19 UFA.

LA w/Deng has about 39M in team salary. Lets round it to about 43M for incomplete roster charges. So we're looking at just south of 60M in cap space. Bron/PG Max needs about 66M in cap space.

LA w/Deng stretch has just south of 70M in cap space.

LA w/Deng trade for minimal salary coming back & Jules 12.5M caphold is just south of 66M in cap space. Just about enough to give Bron/PG their max.

 

Oh shoot so we may not even need to renounce Randle? That would be amazing because then we can sign Bron/PG and go over the cap to retain Randle (or wait for a team to offer him something and then match it since we'd retain his bird rights).

I think if Lakers get an early notion that PG and Bron are coming...they can theoretically wait out Randle's free agency until the highest bidder comes in...at that point...nobody will even offer if we're successful in dumping Deng's deal. We may even get lucky and get Randle to sign a cheaper deal due to the market not being there for him. If we get Randle cheaper...we'll have some extra cap left over to sign other guys like Lopez, KCP, and IT2 to reasonable deals.

 

That's the idea, that Mintz/Jules wait till we at least get a verbal agreement from PG/Bron to team up and save enough of the cap to hold onto Jules still (ie they would have to get a haircut if we can't dump Deng).

However, if Jules signs an offer sheet at 9:01pm PT on June 30th, then LA is essentially on the clock and will have to match the offer (or decline it) by 9am PT on July 8th. (LA has to match 48 hours from the end of the moratorium, which is 9am PT on July 6th).

 

This is my ultimate worry and it's why the Lakers BETTER be communicating with Mintz and working the back channels to ensure that Julius WAITS for us because no matter what, he is going to get paid (whether we get PG/LeBron OR NOT). That's what we need to be communicating to Mintz and to make sure julius does NOT sign an offer sheet on the first effing day of Free Agency. if he does that, he will screw up our entire summer plan and force us to give up the cap that we worked so hard to get!

He’s more clutch than he used to be, but he’s still more wired as a beta than an alpha. He now has to take game winners because he pissed off his former closer to the point of demanding a trade, so no one is left who can create a shot since LeGM sucks. He’ll end up with lots of all time records because of the number of times he got to the Finals out of the Leastern conference, and his physical attributes, but he will never be universally loved and admired like other greats. No matter what the stats say when he’s done, not the GOAT.

Kobe was worshipped in China for his dedication and warrior mentality. Fans cried after getting to meet him. Fans are only known to cry after LLLLLL leaves their team, but it’s because of the smoke in their eyes from the burning jerseys.

IM NOT TRADING s*** OR GIVING UP ANY VALUE TO SIGN HIM. If he wants a shot at a chip with a record 3rd franchise, then prove to me you’re not a $41,000 purse carrying douche, and sign for less than the max. Only then will I cut dude slack. Until then, he’s welcome to go ruin Philly, to let Mike Dan Tony run him 45mpg in Houston til something snaps, or resign in the swamp known as Cleveland.

Cool story bro! Here's another one... We had a hater running our bball ops once. He hated Phil dating his sister and getting all "son" like with his pops. He hated so much, that he chose Tony the phony for a team that was cater made for the triangle. That drew the ire of Jerry Buss's other "son", whom the hater also hated to the point where Magic sold his stock in the Lakers and left. We got to that point in the first place, cause the hater hated anything that would send his boy Bynum elsewhere, but finally relented, turning the situation into a total f***ing Dwightmare. Had he just listened to his star player, Bynum may have turned into Jkidd and the whole franchise may have been spared of the Nash deal. But nope, hatahs gunna hate (btw, Lavar says hi Gunnar) and our beloved Lakers experience the worst era in Lakers franchise history...ever! To add insult to injury, the hater left with one last parting shot...MozDeng!

Thank goodness that Magic dude came back and "sonned" that hater by nearly turning around all that hater's mess in one season and is reportedly aiming to sign LaBron. Thank gawd unreasonable haters, like you, no longer are in a position to run our franchise into the ground. Don't like our new direction, then get your hatin a** off the buss.

Btw, LLLLLLLLogo says hi...and dude is now with the cLips, so I guess that's another L. Stilllllllll....dude has perserverence and I respect the f*** out of that. He accepts the challenge (plays out in the lEast but still is up against the Monstars) while other dudes cupcake their way to a ring.

trading more assets for more uncertainty isnt wise...im fine with moving our own future pick once we know which fa is coming and which isnt, in other words move deng when you have too not just cause you think something will happen

 

i'm almost 99% sure that the reason we requested the 1st round pick from CLE in the IT deal was so that we have assets to get rid of Deng without having to trade any of our current core players.

moving deng affords us the opportunity to sign randle back AND still have cap space for two max players. even if we strike out again, we would still have randle and a lot of room to build a team using KCP type deals and go for 2019 free agency with the same two max slots.

Not going political here but if you are going to dish it, don't get your panties in a bunch when the person you lambast tells you to eff off. Regardless of who is wrong or right. This country LOATHES the rich and famous talking about how regular folks should live or vote. A lot of it is hidden, subconscious jealousy, but it's there and I wish more rich and famous people were aware that regular folks wouldn't take their advice even if they're in the right.

I wish someone had the balls to say something like this but I guess they are all under the poontang whip of their employers or some liberal cult and are worried about being labeled. Trump doesn't give a eff about that and neither do most of the everyday folks in America, hence, why he is in charge.

 

Athletes are entertainment. It’s actually kind of a silly concept to go visit the president at the White House if you win, so it really makes no difference either way.

I’m glad they are standing up for what they believe in, but their opinions really don’t matter to me very much.
