Actually I gotta check to see if you match then trade, what the window is. I think you can, but if it's postdraft then you gotta wait 30 days (see Wiggins to Minny). Also I don't think you can trade matching rights to another team. So if we trade Jules, then the receiving team doesn't gain matching rights. We would have to have a new deal agreed upon before the trade.

I know if we match and don't immediately trade then it's Dec. 15 at the earliest we could deal Jules.

But in terms of predraft, I think you can trade Jules after he's forced to sign a qualifying offer if we can't reach a new deal via max offer sheet with him. Btw, 6/29 is the deadline to offer a QO to RFAs and 6/21 is the draft.

Postdraft options: we can set up a S&T with Jules during the July moratorium or we can match and trade but we need Jules consent and he can't be traded for a year to the team he signed an offer sheet with

Predraft options: we can negotiate a qualifying offer and trade that makes Jules an expiring 5.4M or we can offer a max qualifying offer and trade that gives him a 5year deal at the max amount he agrees to

Jules would have to agree to any scenario of a trade tho. He's got the leverage cause he can just sign the QO and be unrestricted for 19 free agency.

    Back to Bamba..

Edit: just checked... And it looks like all transactions involving a trade would have to be completed post draft. Not sure if that doesn't mean you can have a deal agreed upon in principle during the draft and completed in July.

I randomly came across the combine today and noticed there was an Antetokoumpo there not named Giannis...

Found out it was his little brother, Kostas. Haven’t heard much about him, and obviously this is just a highlight video, but damn, I like the flat out raw talent to work with there. I wouldn’t mind using the second rounder on him as a project.

Gotta give him props to because he could have easily rested on his laurels given that he scored 30+ points in the championship game. But instead wanted to prove to teams he can defend, shoot the ball, and get others involved. One of the stand outs from Day 1 both in the drills/measurements and scrimmage.

I think he would be great for us. I wouldn't be mad at all if he's our selection.

You gotta go with Ayton, just have to... And I know the new suns coach likes him and as actually already coached him in Europe but not to mean bigs can do the things Ayton can offensively that is.

I mean, Mitch has more rings than Ainge as a GM even if you don't include the Shaq/Kobe three peat as his.

People tend to overrate Kupcrap when he had the best owner in Sports who had the ears of other owners. When he died, look what happened to the Lakers, 12:01 Dung Nash and no FAs wanted to come here. So yeah

well, he did fire Byron. I was good with that. Even blindsided him. Just a snap of the fingers, and I'm digging stuff out of archives that make me happy.

I'm not overrating him, but Mitch did some good work, all of which seems to go to someone else for whatever reason. Maybe we should just blame all the bad things on Jim Buss rather than Mitch to?

Wow, only bystander Jeanie and thrower Julius remain with the Lakers in that GIF.

I don't actually love him, but Mitchell Robinson stopped all draft activities, but he's still entering the draft.

He does this to preserve the "mystery" about him and make himself more appealing. If he got out there in the 5 on 5 and was beaten up because he hasn't played in a year, his draft stock would decrease.

For instance, Landry Shamet and Shake Milton both had really tough days in the scrimmages. That's going to hurt their draft stock. Shamet was a guy who was maybe projected late 1st, early 2nd and Milton had a shot with us at 25, but I'd be surprised if we took him at 25 now. Keep in mind, the Lakers absolutely adored Kuzma on all four levels of their draft analysis: college film, combine scrimmage, combine interviews, and individual workouts.

edit- Shamorie is sort of interesting. He was "snubbed" by not getting invited to the NBA combine. His numbers are what intrigue me the most.

As a sophomore his efficiency took a big step backwards as his usage increased. He went from a 57% true shooting percentage to a 52% true shooting percentage, but the real issue was his three point shooting went from 37.5% all the way down to 25.3%. It's strange because he took almost the same number of threes he just seemed to forget how to take them.

What really gets interesting though is the advanced numbers. While his efficiency took a hit, most of his advanced numbers either stayed solid or improved. He marginally increased his PER, his TRB%, STL%, and WSs. His Ortg dipped from 116 to 107, but his Drtg also dropped from 107 to 101 overall. The most intriguing part though is his AST% jumped from 19% all the way to 28.9% and his TO% stayed almost the same going from 11% to 11.7%.

On film, he's got an intriguing game. His jump shot has legitimate NBA range, is smooth, and is easily repeated. He's able to snake into the lane well and use his body to find odd angles at the rim. He's not a tremendous athlete, but probably good enough for the NBA. My problem with him is consistency. He's got 6 games out of 30 with 30 or more points, but he also has 3 games with less than 10 points. He had a game where he went 0/12 in a loss. He also tends to stop the ball and go a little James Harden in isolation situations.

Still, if he interviews well and has a good workout, he's worth a look in the draft I think. He'd absolutely be a worth a pick in the 2nd round.
