James shoulders so much of the teams he's been on. Facilitate, rebound, defend and score when needed. At his advanced age, James has held up well but you never know when that one injury will hit. I still would not trust him for that needed key score (PG13) but everything else I'm fine with...

He no longer plays D hard or often because he’s managing the energy and pounding like All aging players.

Cool to hear all about what technology is available now to extend athletes’ primes.

Takes a lot of dedication to go through that level of maintenance, so props for that.

This seems like something @abeer3 would like to read.

Long story short: Pincus says "oh I can figure out a way for them to keep Ariza, Capela, CP3, Harden, and still get George!"

And then he doesn't really give any good options. His best guess is a sign and trade situation with Cleveland taking on just awful contracts as well as late 1sts in exchange for LeBron, trading away everyone not named Harden, Capela, and Paul. Ariza re-signs for the minimum apparently.

His other option is everyone take a massive pay cut (10+ million each between Paul and James) in order to make it work.

So nothing we haven't thought of already on this site, but Pincus provides a loose framework to get Harden, Paul, LeBron, and Capela. Ariza doesn't actually factor into it.

What about a 3 way trade with San Antonio and Cleveland involving a sign and trade with LLLLL going to SA, Kawai coming to LA, and talent and picks going to Cleveland?

Lots of reasons to think that has potential benefit for all 3 parties if SA think Leonard isn’t coming back and won’t sign an extension

@sirronstuff what planet am I on? And why do I love it so much?
I feel like for the Spurs to attract LeBron long-term, they need to keep Kawhi. We're seeing them miss the playoffs because they don't have Kawhi who is nearly as good as LeBron because of his defensive ability. LeBron would be going there to be a late seed in the West. I don't think he'd want to sign a long-term deal without Kawhi.

That’s why I’m thinking it’s only if they can’t resign Leonard and risk losing him for nothing. Add that to teaming with Pop, and you never know.

Sam Antonio has been without Leonard nearly all year.

And hey, if you can admit he’s a douche, I can admit he’s a great player. :)

I think if Leonard is on his way out, the Spurs move him for a high draft pick, a future middle draft pick, and maybe a prospect now. That's more their MO I think. If they know they're not going to be good, they'll go full rebuild.

I don't see them trading for LeBron, because he'll just leave them the same way Leonard would. LeBron isn't going to stay in a small market by himself even with Pop on board.

And I've always said I don't like him man. LeBron is a narcissist, he complains too much, and he's never been the guy I count on to win games he's just the engine to get me there. I honestly have only ever viewed him as a tool to jump the line. He guarantees us George. He and George guarantee us competitiveness. If we can embrace Malone and Payton (even if they don't feel like Lakers), we can embrace LeBron for a while if it means getting back to the Finals. It'll feel weird at first, but I'll get over it when we hit 50 wins.

But if he comes here, I’m not giving up www.ihatelebron.com

In fact, I’m certain he’ll continue to provide additional material

wow, he found a path that didn't involve moving anderson. that's even scarier than the scenarios i've proposed.

    this season sucks.

I'll eat a shoe if LeBron and Chris Paul take a giant pay cut in favor of keeping Ryan Anderson around.

Pincus is for sure a CBA/cap dynamo! But nothing in that article seems even remotely plausible to me. Im sure Eric would tell you the same thing. Just way too many hurdles and restrictions for Morey to escavate. Add to that how limited their cupboard would be after they incentivize Cleveland AND a 3rd team to take on bad contacts.... And what exactly is LaBron coming on board to?

LaBron has always liked team ball and having the ball find energy (which is why he was demanding for a point guard last trade deadline) yet he would join a Houston team that is largely successful due to iso-ball between Harden & Cp3?

Something meaty, then you gotta go Kobe, right? And that's as rare a meat as you can get!

But that would be giving our guy a real treat. Nah, instead I think we gotta give Real something more Ballsy to eat.
