IMO even more so with Nance Jr if you had to trade him in sending him home and to a playoff situation and with Jordan in going alongside Larry with their established relationship intact (rather than alone by himself) to a playoff situation.... and both to now play alongside an all time top tier NBA player in LBJ.
Or you could be like our tenants, sign your best player to a huge contract and proclaim him a "Flipper for Lyfe" in a lame tribute video, only to send him to a middle of the road team in the Midwest.
Saving Rob from page 2 effort .... So with Kawhi being allegedly no longer on the same page with San Antonio .... is that the equivalent of blood in the water? Bat signal for Rob "the shark" Pelinka! Set up plan to save LeBron's side of the hypothetical 2nd max salary in 2018 .... for just George then and pick up Leonard in 2019. Holy crap Batman! I'm even willing to go yet once again and change my signature to get rid of LLLLL and sub in KL.
I just wanna continue this thought @vasashi17 got me on in the IT thread... I remember Daryl Morey saying this in an interview (paraphrasing): in the past, the league could rely on a few GM's/FO's to make some poor decisions along the way, which provided an advantage to the teams who didn't. And Daryl even said that's basically what still separates the West from East. However, most of those FO's are getting their act together and that gap is closing. The way I see it, with how drastically the league changed this decade (playing style, player movement, etc) Mitch Kupchak quickly found himself behind the race. He did a lot of good, don't get me wrong. I'll never forget "In Mitch we Trust". But in 2018 when Mitch tries to phone call free agents at 12:01 am, most of those deals will already be sealed on iMessage or Twitter DMs. To improve from having a straggling GM (Mitch), to not only a competent, but possibly upper-echelon GM (Rob) is massive. It's a good reason to be optimistic for the Lakers.
I"m vasashi17...and I approve of this message! Btw, I never trusted Mitch. Just not my type of GM cause surprisingly he didn't take calculated risks like his master, the Logo. Meanwhile, its hella ballsy that Pelinka/Magic drop unnecessary salary (attaching valuable assets) for the hope of 2max guys this summer. Its a risk for sure....but one certainly worth taking. And IMHO, it will pay off!
It strikes me as one of the gambles people will talk about as a sign of collusion... And they'll probably be right!
Wow ^^^ that guy had some muscle and meat on him. I wonder why and when Herbalife's physical ideal and pyramid scheme sucked him in?
Damn Josh, you really had to make note of exempting Jesus from this casual talk. This kind of paranoid mind control is just sad to me. But whatever.
