I typically go to MANDLE when he does something big or no one can stop him in the paint.

Beast! just always comes flying out verbally and typed when on game day when he does something physically awesome. The Punisher is good though. Would give $5 to know what his teammates now call him however. Bet it's something good and off the wall. Team sourced nicknames are the best. Maybe LFR could ask one of these days.

LT, I'm just trolling the trollers (not you in particular). I'm mostly teasin' but I can't understand for the life of me how a fan cannot entertain a 3 star format after continuously striking out for stars over the years. 5 years of playoff futility ain't for me. Trusting the "process" in developing our youth while dodging GS ain't for me.

But maybe its just a defense mechanism y'all have developed after years and years of torment of getting a star player, only to have them balk at us and then ending up with MozDeng. I would hate to have egg on my face this summer, but I really do feel things will go in our favor finally.

That being said, if the team can't step up and show some pride to a team that has punked them twice and is ahead of them in the standings for an 8th seed, then I'm not going to waste my time with that crew till they figure it out and truly compete in a "must win" type of game. If we can't win against Denver tonight in our house, then I'd be extremely disappointed with the team and frankly, I got better things to worry about till this summer anyways.

I ain't giving up on the Lakers, but I got no interest in a team that is just playing spoiler. I'm curious to see how this team measures up against a 1-2 seed, so that we can realize just how apart we are in becoming a legit contender. So I really want this playoff push, no matter how unlikely it looks...but a loss tonight, IMHO means we don't got "it" and that push for the playoffs is an aberration.

Btw, fans of the slow burn are still fans and I'm not knocking you...I just don't understand it, that's all. You want to grow our youth, but other than Jules (4 years), Zu and BI (2 years), all these kids came on board this year. Our young collection is impressive, but none of these dudes have fought for the Lakers in the playoffs, so my affinity to them isn't as vast as it were for guys like Eddie Jones, Nick the Quick, Anthony Peeler, etc. Those dudes went to battle in the playoffs, but I still would welcome trading them for a star....so why wouldn't I with this current lot.

Apologies if you feel that I crossed the line...I'm honestly just messing with you guys. I swear, its all in good fun, but I still have no idea why fans would side with a slow burn of players that they barely know and haven't ever played into May, over a team of stars that would give us a legit shot at #17 and beyond.

I'm fine with LeBron/George/Randle. More than fine. I'm ecstatic with it.

If Davis actually is attainable and there's a way to get him without giving up Ingram or Ball, then I'm in, but I figure that's pretty much impossible.

I just have faith things will be better with high character players rather than a self absorbed, narcissistic, flopping, stat stuffing cheat.

Yeah if we could somehow get Anthony Davis here along with Lebron and PG then of course yes. But I don't see how that's even remotely possible. There is no way NO will give up on Davis unless he's completely broken in which case we don't want him either. Those three would definitely be monstrous.

Back to the Beast - yes, that's an X-Man reference not a Beauty and the . . . ref. I think it's fitting because of his size strength speed combination. And the Beast is one of my favorite comic characters so there's that. I also like the Punisher because he dishes out so much hurt down there on the block. But he's more Beast to me.

Sirron, you hate monger you...Tell me what antics has LaBron been put in off the court. Has he caught a rape case? Has he ever had to tell his wife he's got AIDS and their baby could have contracted it? In the bright lights of social media, has dude messed around on his wife? Has dude messed around with drugs or the law?

Meanwhile dude just created a school for 1000 inner city kids and its all paid for by him.

What's your definition of high character?

These young guys, call me crazy, are all at at unique player type level. BI the closest thing to him in another year or two is Durant. Zo .... well many seem to agree with a taller, better shooting Jason Kidd with hops, Randle is off the charts unique as well with the combination of physical skills he brings and Kuzma is as well by virtue unlike most of the one and done hyper athletes .... coming into the league with hard honed skills and moves and the Mamba mentality. Those of us that see this in all four trust our eyes and not the hashed and worn statistics that say it can't happen again like GS because they were an outlier? And outlier for just 3 guys in Curry, Thompson and Green? No. It is happening here as well plus BI is next closest thing to young Durant in another year, not having to bring him into the fold. You don't chuck all that marvelous talent away to see it be on other teams when you are already bringing in freaking LBJ and PG. How much help do those two guys need? Not to mention how freaking cash strapped we become for 3 already mega star salaried players ....only. Part of our strength is going to be our depth. Next man up. BI and Hart out for two weeks and counting and we are still playing well.

Someone explain to me how a thread about Randle's nickname has devolved into yet another argument over the Stat King?

Also: added Black Panther as an option to the poll.

Agree with you and @therealdeal about this "fantasy/basketball porn (Simmons phrase)" scenario with James/George/Davis... Sure I'd be down with it. Then what comprises the rest plus the bench for depth? G-League castoffs? Washed up veterans on their last to no legs? Felton who comprises of two people? Ex-players who play that 3 on 3 thing? Round it out with ushers...valets...bartenders...?

I like Beast too (Disney reference aside).

BI and Durant are pretty different players. Durant has always been a shooter, BI is more of a driver. Durant developed play making skills and is now in the best moving offense I've seen maybe ever which helps, but BI already has pretty great play making ability for his size (allows him to play PG at times). Durant is more athletic too. Different animals with a similar body type.

I agree they're all unique and we're building something very solid here with an intriguing future. I still want George and LeBron anyway. Lonzo and BI are still working their way forward, especially Lonzo. You bring in two big names and their progress can come more slowly while they also learn how to win and how to properly prepare for/approach each game.

The Davis inclusion is interesting because it would propel us into a completely different world, but I'd have to see where we go and what we give up. A core of Ball/George/LeBron/Davis is intense, especially when you consider that Davis has probably a decade of potentially MVP level play in him if he can stay healthy. It all depends on what we give up though. Do we give up Randle and Ingram for Davis? Man... I want to say no right now, but I fully understand that might look stupid in 3 years or so.

My vote is Juju McMandle. I heard a drunk guy in the bar call him that once. The "McMandle" part might have been Randle with a drunken hiccup though.

What I believe would look stupid in three years is the opposite .... watching 3 years closer to their primes BI and Randle on other teams. Barring injury these guys progress each year like mothers. And BI is no longer this big question mark in the shooting part of his game. He is coming into his own progressively there too and is only 20 years old.

Why does one of the biggest and strongest athletes of all Time need to cheat to win? (Flopping is cheating to gain an unfair advantage)

Kobe took Dwight’s elbows and then turned around and called him soft

    LLLLL?

Can you imagine a 5:00 minute video of Kobe flops? I’m sorry I don’t want to sink so far as to support the devil himself. (On the court)

Give me a mentally tough Star with no quit. Don’t give me LLLLL to pair with our up and coming Stars.

His calculated off court image attempts mean nothing on the court. I want a killer, not a freaking flopper.

Mandle = close to Randle except with an M??
