I thought DFish and Big Game nailed it on the head talking about the type of performance Wear gave us tonight was incredible. To stay ready and be confident. I remember him quite well during summer league these last 2 summers and have watched a few G League games this year too. He was definitely needed tonight on both ends and delivers. Great job, Travis!
Wonderful game from him. This is the type of game you have to have when you're in his position. He needs to impress every time he's on the floor and games like tonight will get it done. By the way late in the game when Rudy hit that shot was a miscommunication between he and Lonzo which I'm pretty sure was actually Lonzo's fault since they typically switch everything and Lonzo didn't switch.
I thought the same thing Real. Given how on every possession prior to that we were switching everything, no matter what I have to believe that was also in place on the defensive possession and Lonzo forgot.
Well, I may not have been/be high on him, but at least he isn’t a corpse like a certain other Denchor around our necks.
In all seriousness... Wear is a decent to above average shooter...and plays more of a position defender but certainly not the lock 'em up type.
He was really good last night! I was impressed. Hit big shots and played terrific D (2 great stops on Rudy Gay and 2 on switches on Pau). Yes he got burned on that last shot by Gay, but their did seem to be some confusion on that play with him and Lonzo. Plus Gay is a vet and that was a good move and shot.
Off topic: If Wear can be effective in these short stints...why not give Thomas Welsh a look this offseason? Accurate shooter straight away and off the sides, reliable at the charity stripe, plays with intelligence and will mix it up underneath. Biased Bruin thoughts...
I like that there’s seems to be a smooth transition of G League players to the Lakers. Wear is just the latest example
Plays within himself...and the offense. Hit a trey last night and another one but did not count. Wear is very disciplined.
Agreed, he knows his game and doesn't do anything crazy outside of that which is exactly what we need. Playing much better than he did in the Summer League in July. Keep it up Travis
I like him, extra shooting never hurts. I'd try and find room for him on the main team the rest of the season.
