It's a great trade for the Lakers but I hate, hate, hate losing Nance.

Holy crap....we got 2 max slots...we got 2 max slots...we got 2 max slots...and we still have Randle.

I think we gotta use that 2018 Cavs 1st plus 2020 1st to DUMP Deng so we can keep Randle AND add 2 max FA's.

I really hope we push hard in dumping Deng with that pick and any of ours.

    I know, I'm slacking!

I really do like Randle, but if we can move that Deng contract and open huge room with Ingram, Hart, Kuzma, and Ball? We can become an instant contender next season.

granted its early but think about this scenario.

The Pick we got is for next year's Cavs 1st, granted its protected. But if LBJ leaves the cavs may not be real good of course. meaning that 1st we got might be better than first thought

Brian Winghorst loves this deal for the Lakers

How about Deng+CLE 1st for Jefferson/Glen Robinson III?

Al Jefferson off the bench at 5 would be not bad.

I'm not disagreeing, but we sort of need him as insurance for now. We need to stay competitive for the end of the year and just in case nobody comes, it'll be nice to keep Julius.

Hopefully we can flip Deng this summer with those picks and/or one of the youngsters attached. If we could move Deng/Ingram for a solid piece and some cap space, we're contenders this summer.

We need to dump Deng and the 2018/2020 picks right now. Put the scare in everybody that we're not here to mess around no more.

Rob/Magic, you just won me over for GOOD with this trade. There's literally nothing bad about it. NOTHING.

I get that thinking, but I also think that if a trade like Randle and Deng did go down it's clear the front office knows we're THE destination for free agents, ala the Heat before the Big 3 summer.

I mean honestly, it sort of looks that way right now doesn't it? This is a CONFIDENT move on their part. Not only does it check every box even without the two max slots, but clearing those two max slots was something some people thought the Lakers might not be able to accomplish. And to net a first from it too? I want to see the protections on the pick, but this is such a fabulous move for us it's crazy.

Wow, I am in a little shock here. If it was anyone but Indy, I would say that #1 pick and deng to Indy would be next right away. Not sure if those in Indy want to deal with LA with all their s*** against us.
