If I truly believed that there's no way intellectually I even bend to say maybe bring LBJ in my sig he's not my first priority and certainly not choice. If he came in and we caved to moving everyone but Ball to make him happy I can't believe anyone here would be happy with that. F*** that and f*** him. Winning even if it was guaranteed which with him playing GM of course not .... is NOT the only thing. I could no longer stand the team.

If we let Randle walk, we probably have enough to sign DeAndre Jordan and Lebron (obviously would have to stretch Deng).

I think I said it before in this thread though, we can't really blow up the team or trade away our kids. The kids' production/contract ratio is way better than any star they would land us. We'd have to package all of them together to get to a dollar amount that would net us a star with the impact we'd need. We might even have to not amnesty Deng and include him to get to that number. Ball, Kuzma and Ingram make a combined 15 million. Who does that get us? If it's PG13 and Lebron, we are at 65 million already. Are we better off with Kuzma, Ball and Ingram around PG13 and LBJ or are we better with PG13, Lebron and (for the sake of the argument) a player like CJ McCullom and trash filling out every other spot on the roster.

    history says the latter, sadly.

i quibble with the production/contract ratio claim. it is true that rookies outproducing their contracts is great and one of the few ways to conjure value out of nothing. but because of max contracts, superstars are still the best bang for the buck. also, rookie contracts run out, and if the guy's not a star at the end, it quickly becomes a problem. this was the point of my comment about kuzma and gallinari a few days ago: if you top out at substar-level, you should have traded for a star (if possible). since most guys top out there, trading for stars is generally wise, even using high-performing young players to do so.

I’m not paying that price for LeBron. LeBron AND George, maybe I do. LeBron and a gutted team gets us 2 years of relevance and then we have jr rebuild all over and it’s a gigantic mess like Cleveland is is when he left the first time, when he left Miami, and like Cleveland is now again. An aging, often injured Love, a damaged Thomas, an overpaid Thompson. George will be 28 next season, so he gives us 5 years of relevance on the other hand. If George is included you can gamble more because the window to add younger players/stars around him is longer.

I don't know at this point. I don't think there is any way he stays in Cleveland. If Morey can't turn water into wine, where does that leave him? Sixers dump a couple contracts and sign him? He'd be left trying to find a team to generate a sign and trade for him. I'm sure there will be suitors like the Spurs and others, but if Gilbert isn't willing to play ball, Lebron could be left trying to get DeAndre Jordan to join him on this Laker team.

I couldn't see George passing on being able to play with LeBron on the Lakers. I could see George passing if there's nobody else, but I can't see him passing on playing with an unselfish player (on the court) while also playing at home with young contributors.

I think if you get one, your chances at getting both go up exponentially. If you get George, no way LeBron passes on an opportunity to dump Cleveland and go play with a Top 20 player and a bunch of youngsters who can cover for him and help him age gracefully.

The key is after that, getting one more solid veteran who can be the punching bag (Bosh, Love) role. Lopez already fits that actually.

A lineup of Ball/George/Ingram/LeBron/Lopez or Ball/George/LeBron/Kuzma/Lopez is pretty damn intriguing.

But that's my point, a player of CJ McCullom status isn't a true star, but that's roughly what we'd probably get with those contract numbers, cap space, etc. I doubt Ball, Ingram and Kuzma is going to land us Anthony Davis. We're going to get a second tier star at best and I'd rather have a bunch of solid players as opposed to one good one and trash when you have two other legit stars.

    LLLLL and Gilbertdeserve each other.

Anyone who pays LLLLL a max contract for max years is a total fool based on age and mileage. (And if he’s smart he’ll be seeking that)

But with as obnoxious as he is on top of his declining play? I’ll take a pass thank you very much.

If we do that, I’ll honestly skip a few years being a fan, or however long he’s here. I may never go back. I’m not watching. Just as simple as that.

Does Wade have any game left to take up a roster spot for a chunk of change?

From 16 up to 16 down. Cavs were up at the half and now trail by just as much with 3 minutes to go in the game. 32 point swing.

If the Cavs stay quiet through the deadline or remain steadfast in holding onto that BK pick, I see no chance in LaBron re-upping there.

Add to that how his camp said he would not waive his no-trade clause and that tells me that the Cavs are possibly looking to trade him, but LaBron is just as petty as Gilbert in that he won't allow the team he gets traded to to give up assets that come back to Gilbert. I totally see LaBron leaving Gilly high and dry this summer and he'll drive the narrative that all those stars that got traded after the Cavs lost to the Dubs in the Finals (Butler, Melo, PG, Blake), didn't push Gilbert to get involved, so why should he allow the Cavs to get any assets back in return when he bolts.

Meanwhile Team Lebron is cursed. Boogie, Wall, Love and now Zinger is down.

EDIT: 39 point swing. Cavs up by as much as 21 and end up losing by 18. Scored only 9 points in the 4th quarter.

"Team LeBron is cursed." Yeah there's an omen for you for the real games wherever he winds up.
