Did they really offer Ajinca and a 2nd for Randle? Because we badly want to add $5M to our payroll for next year for a scrub....

The ajinca + 1st for Clarkson woulda been a surprisingly good deal for both sides...we save about $7M in that deal and get a 1st round pick out of it (with Cousins out, maybe Pelicans slip out of the playoff picture and we get a lotto pick in arguably the most stacked draft of all time).

I hoped we laughed at those offers, but I’m also afraid if that’s what the going market for those guys.

    I hope not for Randle.

The thing is our FO has no poker face, we've been dangling our players, boasting about our supposed cap flexibility this summer, lol, so we really get these stupid offers

And Rob should have done his due diligence by slapping Demps upside his head. All initial offers will probably be of the low-ball variety, but if teams honestly value Randle as such, maybe we get him for that 12-15M contract we want to retain him with.

Anyways, Dallas seems to be putting Wes up on the table now.....Wes/Noel for Randle/Deng works within the CBA rules. Not saying I would do it with just those principles, but its worth considering. And hopefully Wes doesn't opt in next season. However, if he does, a stretch (6M for 3 years Vs Deng at 7.4M for 5 years) or him as an expiring deal could help if we take the route of trading for one of our max guys....Wes for George if George really wants out, who knows..

I’d take Wes for 1 less year, but a player who wants to play. He can shoot still, and if he doesn’t like it here, he can release his Player Option next year.

Asik/1st for Clarkson isn't awful but it's not good either.

    The Randle offer is insulting.

I strongly disagree with this especially saying Randle has peaked. Never heard of a 23 year old peaking when it comes to basketball. I mean Steph Curry was a 3 or 4 year player at Davidson and then coming into the NBA it took him 3-4 years before he was MVP type of a player. I'm not saying Randle will be a steph, mvp type of player. I'm just using the time it took him to get to a point of knowing he could be special in this league. Randle came out as a freshman, broke his leg the first game of his rookie year, and has only played 2 full seasons before this year.

We gotta give him time and the chance to play with better talent around him.

I agree for all our young guys. A lot of people will call a 2nd year player as what you see is all you’ll get. But more and more I’m seeing players develop into great players in they’re 5-8th years. For some it takes time.

:This: Seriously. My eyes and my gut tell me we're not going to like seeing Julius's prime years in another uniform. How scary will he be when that short 2 ball starts dropping more consistently .... and it will IMO. More of those are being made each year. Same with Ingram. Could be OK move or could be a colossal blunder.

And this is why I've been thinking for some time that no moves will probably be made at the deadline. I just don't think the deals are there for us. You don't move Randle for nothing. He could be a valuable player for us moving forward depending on how things go in the summer. His RFA status is in our favor. We don't need to have a fire sale.

I prefer not to make any moves this season; this team is playing well, and I don't want to ruin the rhythm of the team with the uncertainty of what might transpire this summer. Be patient now; win as many games as you possibly could and makes your moves this summer.
