Imagine if he picks the Paper Clips over us. WOW this forum would erupt, riots would ensue, and life as we know it as Lakers fans would come to a halt.

On a more serious note, I don't fear them at all. Look at our young players and talent compared to theres. It's a no brainer who has the better upside.

you guys are overreacting way too much ... the Clippers have nothing there. Ok they can sign two guy, we can do the same with some dealing and still have lonzo, kuz, ingram, larry ... not a competition in my eyes especially after how they treated blake with the hanging in the rafters thing. Players take notice of such stuff.

The greatest success of the Clippers was running Sterling out of ownership. Good riddance.

If it came down to someone choosing the Clippers over the Lakers looking at both of their situations today... The player that chose the Clippers isn't a guy I want on my team. I understood picking the Clippers over us for a couple years there, but now? Now all things are (at best for the Clippers) equal which means you're choosing against everything the Lakers are and stand for. That's on you. If Paul George and LeBron James chose the Clippers over us in FA, they're not who we thought they were (well some of you already hate LeBron) and they'd deserve everything that comes with being a Clipper.

I am not threatened. The only thing they've got going for them is Jerry West and I'll take my chances right now.

No I hold very little fear of that end. If someone chose the Clippers, as they're built now around Gallinari and Lou Williams, then they're not someone I would want representing our team. It would be a tough pill to swallow, but if someone was willing to do that, then they're not meant to be a Laker. We'll get over it while that person flounders with the Clippers for 4 years going nowhere.

Agreed hopefully because Magic Johnson is NO piker when it comes to competition in his athletic career and his business career. Jerry West notwithstanding. In spite of what Zen would have you believe.

Dude probably owns a house overlooking the ocean here in LA. Now he's going to Detroit. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

yeah, real didn't just say that, right? the architect of some of the best teams ever vs. our unproven and seemingly bungling management team?

So there goes the "We Run LA" era, and what did they accomplish? Second round exits and the whole racist owner scandal. And after holding DJ hostage, he's the last one standing. Theres some poetic justice there.

They got a decent haul, somewhere along the lines of other stars that have been traded recently. Interesting to see if Ron Jeremy could save his job with a playoff push now with the Drummond and Griffin duo.

I'll say it again: not worried. I love Jerry but I will bet money that LeBron/George are not a Clipper duo this summer. They miiiiight convince George out of previous nostalgia, but what about the Clippers from any standpoint is more attractive than the Lakers? Players? No. Stability? I don't think so (coach probably on his way out and massive player turnover). Loyalty? Hell no. They convinced Griffin to sign by telling him they'd retire his jersey. Now they're trading Jordan who reneged on a deal to stay there. Chris Paul actively left. Whoops. Brand recognition and financial leverage? Not even close.

So all cash offers equal: why would you choose the Clippers? For an 80 year old Jerry West? I love Jerry but I just don't see it. If a player chooses the Clippers over the Lakers with cash equal, I have no desire for that player. They've made their bed.
