Felt like I needed some blood pressure medicine or something watching the end of that game. Start making them shoot granny style or something. That’s how they’ve lost some earlier games.

Yeah...free throws. My dog Hart missed two. Before that frantic last two minutes, we were 16-25. It did not have to be THIS crazy.

They need to focus on 2 things during practice free throws, and half court offense!!!! Forget everything else

I dont know how I can feel deflated after our prized rookie beats the C Bags, but our free throw shooting is so depressing.

Man like WTF is wrong with this team at the line?

Soooooooooooo frustrating to see these mental midgets clank freebies in a series.

This is truly not acceptable. This is a reason for me to trade some of these dudes. I don't care how good or bad. A team that sucks as hard as the Lakers from the line doesn't belong in the NBA.

KCP , JC , Lopez ( 9 pts from his career average ! he's averaging way less attempts though) FTs % are all down from previous seasons , as of now Kuz is obviously a dissapointment in this aera ( should be 80%) , the remaining players are just bad FT shooters .

Overall , they need to treat FTs more seriously , focus and routine wise ( like JC did tonight at the end of the game).

But it's not a surprise this roster is bad at the line ...

The problem is that with the FT shooting being this bad, every team will send us to the line in close games knowing that this is an equivalent to a Laker TO.

Losing games with 5-6 point leads in the final minute is very heart-breaking and demoralizing. We lucked out a couple of times (against the Mavs and the C Bags). Had we lost either of those games, I would be furious right now. Can't have that.

The main issue is that we don't even have ONE reliable FT shooter. Not even 1 among 15. That has to be some sort of an amazing NBA record. Not even one guy on this team can make a friggin FT in crunch time. Lonzo shooting 50% as a PG is the tip of the iceberg.

    Finishing last is one thing.

    Finishing DEAD last another.

We are more than a full percentage behind the Suns in 3 point percentage. About 2% for the 27th spot. Thats a lot.

FT shooting we are 2% away from the second to last team at an amzing 68%. The 27th team is 5% ahead. Thats amazing to me.

I'd say it has a lot to do with youth. But that's just an excuse and a poor one. Ok, guys like Randle and Larry are lousy but that's kind of expected considering both of them are pretty bad shooters. 65% or so is about what I'd expect for them and they average that between the two of them. And to be fair, I've seen improvement from Randle lately.

The guards/wings though truly need to get their act together. Lonzo's FT shooting is unacceptable. Ridiculously low. Ingram had gotten his percentage up a bit some time ago after a rocky start but now he's right back where he started from. Considering he is our best one on one player and continues to drive with good success either finishing with contact or going to the line, he is the one who truly needs to improve his percentage from the stripe. There's no reason he shouldn't be shooting 75% on FT's. Kuz should also bring his percentage up to that level too. He's respectable at 70% or so but not what it should be considering what a good shooter he is. Hart too is at 70% area which is low for a shooting guard. Get that up to 75% and we're talking. That's where KCP and Clarkson are and while you'd like to see them get up to 80% I'll take it.

In other words most of these guys should be shooting 5% higher from the line than they are (Lopez is severely underachieving at nearly 10% under his career stats). They need that improvement. We'll certainly win more games if they do. Think of how we have gotten so close against Houston (double OT), GS (OT twice) . . . it's glaring at this point of course.

The free throws... Who knows? Nerves, lack of focus, bad mechanics? It has cost us at least three or four games this season.

On to Chi-Town. Hopefully there is no let down.
