lol at nance the punching bag. he's one of the few non-disappointments on the roster this year. you want to bench a big? bench lopez.

my WMC: what happened to the defense? what we've seen the last few games is the exact team i feared we'd see prior to the season.

    yuck.

Pressure in LA is like no other. I would even say it has surpassed the New York pressure by miles. I should say "THE LA LAKER PRESSURE".

That entire team looks like it isn't having any fun. Luke looks miserable. Kuzma is the only player on that team, at this very second, that would be untouchable. The next 7 months is going to be very interesting. I seriously have no idea what this team will do if they come up craps in 2018. I think that will be it for the Lakers for a very long time.

I think Rob Pelinka is the only shining hope for this team in the front office. Jeanie is just as much of a joke as her brother. As much as I love Magic, Magic does not know how to run a sports franchise. Magic is good at communication and branding. He will never be bad in that. He will make millions forever doing that. But running a club, I do not think that is his talent.

Lakers either get a star in the summer to ease the transition a little or the Lakers are going to lose and lose and lose until they get lucky enough in the lottery where they can draft the star.

It is a very scary time for the Lakers. I thought if anything getting Zo would open up some things because you rarely get the pass first guy who can run your team. But Luke's rotations and decisions on how to run the offense has been pure s***.

    My real WMC...

Two likable new executives, but they have zero track record of building a winning team in their current roles. While I have confidence in them as people, they inherited a pile of flaming poo, and it’s not a one year fix no matter how bad we want it.

We have a very young coach that has no proven track record developing young talent. Winning with GS’s championship core as an interim coach just isn’t the same as coaching a bunch of one and done 20somethings.

We have a couple of key positions on 1 year contracts. I haven’t seen selfish play from Lopez, but KCP has flashes of (free agent to be prove it to them mode)

No veteran point guard to guide the development of Lonzo Ball.

No set rotations or clear pecking order of play

    No closer

Indecisive and confusing substitution patterns that make very little sense.

Lots to complain about, but essentially this all adds up to the likelihood of losing nearly all close games like last night.

    And that feels below average

^...add iffy free throw shooting too. We missed eight. Perfection is unrealistic BUT make at least five more out of that stat could have meant a win.

I was at the game last night. I took two of my teenage daughters and my son. We had a grand old time!

Each of them commented on the FTs. If I recall correctly, Ingram missed 4 total but 2 straight as did Julius. Totally frustrating! You can see that BI doesn't have confidence in his shot. Watching his release there is no confidence.

I don't normally do this but it seems that it is becoming a regular thing for me (Ugh!)... my WMC:

    - FTs 66% is just not going to cut it.
    - Defense has just disappeared.
    - Clarkson overdribbling, which leads to a turnover. It happened several times last night.
    - BI's lack of confidence in his jumper.
    - Refs were HORRIBLE! BI and Lopez in foul trouble early on some seriously questionable calls.
    - Kuzma trying to do some fancy (and questionable) passing, which led to two turnovers in a row and the quick hook by Luke.
    - Randle's BBIQ... this team is known as the Floppers and the offensive fouls were infuriating! Use your brain Julius not just your brawn.
    - We need another long range shooter.
    - We need a good vet PG.
    - Lonzo. I don't even know where to begin... to be fair I know that he is young and has some growing to do. He had some nice defensive plays but his man on man is absolutely atrocious. He gives up too easily and then hangs his head when beaten. Rivers is a bona fide scrub and Lonzo made him look unstoppable. The other thing is that Lonzo needs to stop shooting in crunch time. He took a 3 that missed terribly toward the end of the game when every possession counts... it was early in the shot clock too! He didn't swing the ball. He just came down and thought I'm launching this 3. Why didn't he drive to the hoop? Why didn't he pass?
    - That we don't have Lou anymore. That dude is so awesome on O. I know his D leaves much to be desired but man he was phenomenal last night.

One bright spot... my second daughter (I have 4) sings opera so her voice is piercing and powerful. She really got into her first Lakers game and the Clippers fans heard it loud and clear. I was a little embarrassed but proud of her yelling "Fake Griffin sucks! He's a flopper!" We had a bunch of Lakers fans near us who laughed and cheered every time she said something. We had people 20 rows in front of us turn around to see who was hurling such insults because her voice pierced the air.

Didn't we spend all last season finding out that the Randle/Nance front court just doesn't work?

3pt loss vs Blazers (Nov 2) 7 missed FTs

Also place guys all along the lines of the key in masks of the most annoying players in the league, and have them talk trash about their mothers the entire time.
