Once Hill went down I felt like we would struggle to get to even twenty wins and I still feel that way. With Swaggy struggling and falling out of favor with Byron, I just don't think we have the horses to squeak out many wins.

Can you guys believe there's only 29 games left this season? As bad as it's been, at least it's going by relatively quickly to me. We're already at the All-Star break. Yikes. Here's our next ten games:

    vs. Brooklyn
    vs. Boston
    @ Utah
    vs. Milwaukee
    vs. OKC
    @ Charlotte
    @ Miami
    @ Memphis
    vs. Dallas
    vs. Detroit

I hope we go 1-9 through there. I only want to beat Boston.

New York ups their tank game.

Melo's played his last game of the season.

wow, when reading your post I literally forgot we had Jordan Hill on our team. I still really hope that we can make a trade to send him for a 1st rounder. But my worry is that if there was such a deal on the table or if that was even possible, we would have made that deal already.

4 days left before the trade deadline.

Damn, they are tanking fully. And they are 3 games ahead on the tank schedule. I think they are going to out tank us. But I believe we could end up at the number 2 spot or 3 possibly at worst. I still think Philly and especially Minny are going to end up with more wins than us. New York seems like a long shot now though. For the record, I think that's pretty disgraceful given that Phil was supposed to change their culture around. They are a big fail.

We're doing the best tanking job right now, but I don't think we'll out-tank NY.

Damn...these are some weird times. If we land a Duncan type franchise player with it, then it is all good.
Jackson "sees" what is up over here so he is working to one-up us.

We could consider this a historically bad year for the Lakers, right. That's a rhetorical question. We know the answer. Just imagine if we signed Melo and the hype that it caused pairing him up with Kobe all to be let down with them both being out by the All-Star break? Would that be just has disastrous as this year as been? At least, we'll more than likely get a top 5 prospect out of it this year? We'd be left with nothing but a horrible taste in our mouth. Although, Melo would have gotten the surgery during the summer and we'd have at least the possibility of telling FA'syou could play in L.A. and play with Melo...just food for thought...

In that scenario, we'd still have Kobe, Melo, Randle, and a top 5 :)

no surprise here. I really think we end up with the 3rd worst record. Don't think we can out tank Knicks and Philly. But we'll see

Top 5 with Kobe and Melo playing until February...I don't know about that. We'd still have Melo and Randle, though. :). I think Kobe's body isn't going to last anymore; he's not a selling point, IMO. We would have sold Melo, injured Randle, no pick, IMO

Ugh, we have a somewhat easier schedule when we return...I'm not confident about losing to Brooklyn and Boston at home...although I would like to BEAT boston if there was any team that we were going to win against....but I dunno...those first 10 games aren't as brutal...too many eastern conference teams...I'm hoping we win 6 games the rest of the way...19-63 could give us 2nd worst record...I think that's what we need to gun for is 2nd worst to ENSURE that we keep that pick.

76ers upped their tank game by dumping MCW and McDaniels. :swear:

Let's hope Byron can out tank them, it won't be easy.

Our only hope is Scott said he's going to go with a new lineup for the final 15-20 games. That lineup better be unconventionally awful.

Philly has our pick now apparently. I like it. Seems like Phoenix thinks we're likely to keep the pick this year, and that we'll be good enough next year for our pick to no longer be as valuable.
