It was a great, exciting game tonight. Looked like we were going to beaten badly in that first quarter slow start, but it was action packed after that. We competed big time. Almost came away with the W. Yes there's a moral victory in that.

Optimistically hoping that the Staples crowd doesn't boo Russell tomorrow night. But fans are merciless and it's not like they have years of great heroics and memories from him. Anyway hope not.

almost beating portland on the road when you shot 4-18 from three really isn't bad. have a chance to bounce back against a bad nets team tonight; interested to see how they respond.

Pippen and Tmac on The Jump said we can beat any team in the league with the way we play. I agree.

On any given night we can win, but we need to put several parts of our game together

Yes I'm sure that's what they meant. They love how hard we play though.

Alright I wanted to rewatch the game to confirm but: that game could easily have swung our way. That shot by Lillard was absolutely preposterous. Lillard was probably 28-30 feet away fading away with Ingram in pretty good position. That's an impossible shot that only the great ones can hit.

But even so, Kuzma got a great look at the win and just couldn't quite knock it down. Massive credit to Luke for that one, but I'll get into that in the Luke thread.

What I'm loving is that outside of the opening night, this team looks about as competitive as we were promised. This was a game where they were literally blown out in the first half, but fought all the way back. The Blazers can say "anyone can have a good night" and pundits around the country can say "it was a second night of a back to back for the Blazers," but does it really matter? A bad team could just take the loss and pack it up and go home. This team isn't going to do that and I love it. Credit where it's due but the culture change is happening.

Even though we lost, great showing on national TV.

Good stretches of defense to grab the lead and hold it.

Just better play from a bad, bad man in Lillard.

35 win season still looks promising because the team play defense.

We may not make the playoffs, but anyone who can't see improvement in this team doesn't know basketball. Hustling on D, moving the ball, guys are playing for each other instead of empty stats. It's quite refreshing to see and frankly, exciting for us going forward. This culture change is exactly what we needed. Lakers basketball is finally fun again.

We have been in every single game this season except opening night. That is a positive sign. We aren't getting blown out by 40 anymore.

If we had beaten the Blazers we would be tied for the 6-8 spot in the Playoffs.

We have 7 guys averaging double digit PPG, and it was 8 before Ball dropped to 8.8 due to recent struggles. That’s team ball, that’s a definite culture change. Also, we could be 5-4 right now if Lillard doesn’t go crazy clutch on one shot and the refs for that game weren’t all apparently born in Portland. Also both of our national TV games so far were down to the wire, and we looked very good, where the last few seasons we got embarrassed on that stage regularly.

I'd rather PG be watching. LBJ wants to come to CA as it is already. PG too of course which started all this where there's smoke there's fire stuff. But then OKC showed up all cute with nice legs in a short skirt and he's been temporarily smitten. He's a Guy.
