She probably would have increased military spending, just as Trump has, because they're her funds. That would probably be the worst that would come from her presidency. An increase in the militarism and international presence of the U.S. military. It wouldn't be good, but nowhere near the divisiveness this guy has led the country into, both internally and in the international stage.

I'm just not convinced that's true. She's every bit as horrible as Trump, she's just more tactful about it most of the time.

Hillary is every bit of garbage that she is. That fact that she's still lingering around is telling of how conniving of a person she is, and how status quo the country would've fallen to had she been in office. To throw Bernie under the bus even though he supported her once he was dropped out. How poorly her campaign was managed would be a direct correlation to how she would've ran the office.

Neither Trump or Hillary were suited for President.

Though I loved Bernie and his rhetoric, I still wasn't in with a fully Democratic Socialist system, but he was headed in a more progressive direction. What he lacked was an economic plan that he could justify building his system with, which I believe a more moderate approach would have pushed forward.

However, this country is so divided in their thinking because we have two of the most selfish political parties in the history of our country, that there is no forward progress to be had without stepping on anybodies toes.

This country runs on money whether we like it or not, and in more ways than none, can swing in favor for them if the timing is right.

I agree. Hillary is a deplorable person. It's why when faced with that question of "lesser of two evils" I chose neither and voted for Rand Paul as he's the closest thing to a libertarian on the ballot. And yes, I know Gary Johnson was there, but I feel that voting for the same token idiot (Johnson) the libertarian party throws up there every election isn't good either. That's another huge issue I had with the election. With the two pieces of s*** we had running, this was a real opportunity for the libertarian party to make inroads and get people to actually listen to their message. And to a point people were...until they realized Johnson couldn't even pass a 6th grade geography class.

I disagree. We didn't buy the "crooked Hillary" B.S. because at no point was it B.S. There was nothing to buy. She's a terrible, terrible person. She's just a different kind of terrible. Murderers and Pedophiles are both horrible types of people. They are different types of horrible. And I don't even feel bad for mentioning Hillary and Trump with those groups. :D

I thought Kasich was the best candidate from day one. Unfortunately, a down the middle approach just doesn't work in today's world. It makes more sense than a far right or far left approach, but it's not as "sensational", therefore it doesn't appeal to a largely uneducated voter base (on both sides). It's as if logic and reason are no longer concepts, it's all polarization. Whatever BS one side pulls, the other is just going to come back with something even more nonsensical until the whole fabric of this country is ripped apart at the seam holding it together...if that isn't already the case.

He was almost insulting and it was really aggravating hearing people say, "Oh you're a libertarian, so I guess you like this Johnson guy? Did you know doesn't even know about Syria??" He made it so easy to dismiss the third party system... Just tragic.

I voted for my brother in a write in ballot just for fun. I refused to vote for either Clinton or Trump. My wife voted for the nutcase Green Party lady... I'm sorry for that.

So I read that Pence wasted 250K flying to the Colts/Niners game and then being “offended” and leaving. One, he knew this was going to happen, so the trip was clearly a sham. And two, this is pathetic on Trump’s part, a flexing of power, a waste of money, just plain stupid. So many real issues in this country and kneeling at football games is what they’re making their war.

I wonder how much that 250k would have helped the people of Puerto Rico?

Well no it's true they've not used finances correctly. But it's our fault as a nation for funneling money down a well. Where was our government insight? The infrastructure in PR is awful and they were unprepared for any sort of emergency. Why didn't we help them figure it out? These people are citizens right? Where have we been for the last 50 years?

NFL to fine or suspend players who don't stand. Teams can lose draft picks on first offense.

    Your move players.

I might actually tune in this weekend to see if any kneel.

    Wilbon on ESPN:

This is far, far worse to me than what Hill said. Wilbon is calling Jerry Jones a slaver because he asks players who he is paying and work for him of their own free will to stand during the anthem. It's Jerry's team. No, Wilbon. They are not equal to Jerry because he owns the freaking team and signs their checks. I'm not equal to the president of my company. I'm not equal to the person in between me and the president in the chain of command. What does Wilbon want? Jerry understands his customers in Dallas don't want to see his players kneel. He's ordering them not to do so while on company time. If I started protesting crap at the workplace when clients were walking through, how long would I keep my job?

The level of f---ing entitlement that people have these days. Dear God.

I like Wilbon a lot, but I disagree with him.

I read the Wilbon quote, and then typed this:
No matter how much my boss pays me, I am not equal to her (in the business-sense). She's my boss. She's above me. I do what she wants and if I feel so strongly that I can't do what she wants, I'm free to walk. Just like the NFL players.

And then read your response Savory. Basically word for word.

Equating this to slavery is so disrespectful to how terrible the reality of slavery actually was, I can't believe Wilbon said that and didn't think better of it and retract it later.

I actually really like Wilbon (on PTI, not fond of him on ESPN's Basketball coverage). But this is just baffling. But he has the backing of the NAACP who are calling what Jerry is doing unconstitutional? Just stop. Slavery had white plantation owners beating slaves to death, raping women, etc. Jerry is paying them millions of dollars to play a game and they are free to retire or quit whenever they want. He just asks they don't do stuff to HIS company's brand while at the workplace.

Wilbon is usually much more level headed than this. Jason Whitlock, (who I can vehemently disagree with and then love a take he has five minutes later) I would expect this from. This is bad. Why has no one come out and said anything about this?

While we're on the subject of people saying stupid things regarding this whole flag controversey, Mike Ditka has chimed in saying there has been no black oppression for the last 100 years that he's seen. I mean...Brown vs the board of education was in the early 1950s...so...umm...by my math, that's like 65 years ago. And 65 is less than 100. And...umm...black people couldn't even vote everywhere until 1965. Maybe we can excuse Ditka for not knowing about Brown vs education since he would have been like 12. But the dude was a grown man during the Civil rights movement.

^^^ Ditka needs to be tested for CTE. Black people haven't experienced oppression in the past 100 years? Yeah, he's got stage 4 CTE. CLEARLY.

This has been a interesting debate. I'm personally confused though and maybe some can help me understand a few things about this NFL kneeling/protest/don't protest/you get paid millions/not equal/is equal thing.

    1. People keep saying that because the players make millions (by the way not all players make millions) that they should essentially shut up and color. My question for this one is, when did the monetary amount you are paid change the % of American you are? I assume they weren't getting paid millions lets say like College football players it would be ok?

    2. If forced patriotism is the thing and kneeling is in fact a direct disrespect to the men and women who serve our country then shouldn't all American companies be able to enforce this policy. If you don't display your patriotism for the country you can be fined, suspended without pay or even fired. With that being said, shouldn't all the employees of these businesses be subject to this treatment? Are they going to start fining and suspending vendors who continue to sell stuff during the anthem? How about kicking out fans who are drinking beers during the anthem? The kids running around during the anthem? Guys who keep their hats on? The last few are fans but still I'm curious. What about the people standing around the flag? The flag that is being flown incorrectly (which is disrespectful by the way) in the first place. They should have on gloves while holding the flag. Should they be fined?

    3. Now that the pandoras box is open what about those American companies whose owners do not believe in Military force and war. Can they now force their employees to not have flags and patriotic symbols in their place of business? They are getting paid by the owner, they are not equal to the owner and they must do what they are told to do after all.

I've seen some pretty strong opinions on this topic. I myself have many on it but I don't share them often. It seems once again, the masses have been re-directed to miss the point of it all in order to keep everyone fighting over something that isn't an actual issue. So much ground had been made and yet we are back to the same misunderstanding. Constitutional Rights are for every American no matter what they are getting paid I believe. Guess I could be wrong I'm just a low paid dance fitness instructor after all.
