Las Vegas Massacre

I strongly disagree. I keep mine right next to my bed. As a husband and father, I feel it's my job to protect my family. And I will. No hesitation.

 

^^ but most aren't in that situation. Someone breaks in my house, tries to carjack me, etc. Mass shootings are a very small fraction of gun situations.

 

That's where the bill comes in and yes I realize that makes me a massive conspiracy theorist which I generally don't like being... The whole thing just doesn't make any sense at all.

 

It doesn't add up with what is going on with his family though. His brother said he was a different guy, but a why would a millionaire retiree make this decision?

I'm not sure we can just assume he was a nutcase. I understand the conclusion I'm coming to is extreme, so I'm not saying I'm right either, I'm just saying something about this doesn't make sense to me. Like @revgen pointed out, the amount of fire we're talking about from a 60+ year old man is bordering on physically impossible.

 

So many things about this make little sense.

How he got over 20 weapons plus thousands of rounds of ammo up to his room.
How he figured out everything from a tactical perspective.
How he physically pulled it off.
How he was able to make the shots from such a long distance.
How everyone that knew him best and everyone that had recent contact described him as totally normal.
How ISIS claims he was a recent convert yet the authorities immediately knew with certainty that there was no ISIS connection.

 

He was there for a few days. Luggage with certain number of weapons or ammo. Unpack. Go to car or place and pack up again. Wouldn't take that many trips.
Physically? I'm sure he was exhausted afterwards, but not impossible.
Shoot 1000s of rounds into a large crowd and you're gonna hit a lot. I'm sure he was just spraying.
I have no answers for the rest, but I'll say I don't trust ISIS and I don't trust our government. I wouldn't discount anything.

 

I assume ISIS took credit just because they knew it would look "good" for them to have their name attached to the worst gun massacre in our country's history.

 

Usually by now they have found the shooter’s online ramblings, his diary of his insane thoughts and anger towards someone or something, but here, nothing. He was just some 64 year old dude who played video poker at the casinos. But he had an ever increasing number of guns up in his room, and apparently an armory back at his house. Yeah, ok, makes total sense.

 

One of my co-workers that I work with and see every day was there at the concert and was there when the shooting started. Saw people getting shot all around her. She was unharmed and got out. Very lucky to be alive, but she obviously is really shaken up and is taking time away from work (as she should) to try to recover the best she can mentally. Take whatever time she needs.

The good thing though is her roommate who also works in the same office as us is staying home with her trying to support her the best she can so she's not alone.

Just crazy how you can be sharing photos with friends and co-workers one night and then the very next day be part of, right in the middle of the worst shooting massacre in US History.


Time does heal things, think of the people who were injured and survived the Boston bombings who are thriving today, but unfortunately this will be with her for the rest of her life.

 

I had a friend there who was an off duty cop. He got his family and friends out of there and went back to save more people. I've seen the footage and the pictures... What these people dealt with is truly a horrifying act. It's something most of us will never understand fully.

I want to preface this by saying I don't mean to sound cruel or anything by my comments below, just pointing out the numbers and what we've heard so far.

500+ people wound or killed is a lot, no doubt about it but given the pictures of all the ammunition he had and the rifles I am really surprised more people weren't wounded or killed. Not sure if this is accurate or not but I heard there was around 2000-3500 people around that area of the time of the shooting.

 

Yeah, so apparently he was a criminal mastermind. Planned this out for a year, got his girlfriend out of town with lots of money, bought 32 guns over time. Motive appears to be none still, but yeah, insane guy I guess.

 

I'm starting to agree. This is fishy as heck. This is starting to seem like the Kennedy assassination where the "shooter" came out of nowhere and did things that people with years of extensive training would have trouble with. And he did it as a 65 year old who spends most his time playing video poker?

Maybe I should watch what I say. I don't want to be "Arlington Roaded" in the future.
