I agree, he has done a lot better job than I thought he would. I think his recent success is also due to the fact that Milwaukee is a smaller market. There is less pressure and the magnifying glass isn't always on the team like it was in Brooklyn.

Byron looked like he wanted to win the game tonight. Fortunately, it did not happen.

Did they do the shake hands thing afterward, considering Byron had just called him an A****** in the press? [IMG]

Are Byron's post game comments supossed to make us look good, tough and all (to cover up the tank plan), or is he just realy clueless?

Scott said that after the All-star break Ronnie Price will get some playing time. Which is good for tank purposes but it better not come at the expense of Clarkson

If that's the case, move Lin. Reportedly, the market is weak, but I don't care if you only get a 2nd rounder back for him. Then, you can start Clarkson and bring Price off the bench for the remaining part of our schedule.

Actually, the comment I made was in the wrong thread. I posted an update to the tank standings that I meant for the draft thread.

I'm not a big fan of Byron, but I still like him better than 'Antoni. I can't say Magic is wrong when he says we're still playing hard. Last season the Cleveland game would have ended 110 to 140, 'Antoni was a joke. This season we get beat badly, but it at least isn't by historic numbers. This roster has no business being in some games they have been, like beating the Bulls, so I'll at least give Byron some credit for that.

I at least see guys playing with some pride instead of quitting all the time, and at least he's finally given Clarkson freedom to see what he can do by not playing Price who has no future with us, and is open to starting a guy who plays hard like Tarik Black. I don't see us winning a title under Byron, but at least I don't want to constantly punch him in the face like with that self-deprecating, lame joke making, clueless "coach" 'Antoni.

I'm trying to understand the plans he have for Nick Young. clearly Scott decided to educate him this season to make him a more complete player for next year. the problam is I don't see Young go for it.

^^^ This has been my biggest problem with the Lakers as of late. Go with the homerun play that involves the homerun names, knowing that it is unlikely that you won't be successful in doing so. But that is just half of it. There is really no contingency plan....no plan B. Just plan $.

Their mindset is that you either hit the homerun (CP3 and Dwight in the same summer) or strikeout and attempt to pacify the fanbase and corporate sponsors with names that will still bring in the dollars (ie rebounding with Nash, rushing to lockup Kobe after Dwight left, bringing in Showtime alum in BScott after erroneously hiring Brown and MDA after ousting Phil twice and locking up Swaggy with a hometown discount).

Obviously I have a huge problem with plan $ cause it undermines the fans tremendously. I really don't even mind plan A, as long as there is a plan B in place. But what makes our recently successful plan A so unforgivable is that we had actually pulled it off and then we follow it up with looking over Phil to hire MDA. Management's ego clearly got the best of us, since we had the pieces to at least make a title run, but we employed the wrong philosophy (pun intended). We chose to go uptempo with a senior citizen at the point and with strong post pieces like Kobe, Pau and Dwight. And with that one move alone, you missed out on capitalizing Kobe in his pre-twilight years...you chased off an Allstar...you allowed free agents to undermine us...and you cut into the longevity of Kobe by burning him out.

Now that I got that out of the way, lets bring it back to BScott and Swaggy. I like how Scott is trying to enforce a winning personality, but you can't control Swaggy with this team. If we had a title worthy team that was winning, you could get Swag to play within his lane since he's really just a one-dimensional player. He isn't a leader or a player that you can band around. The contract we gave him probably gives him that false sense of entitlement, but management only did it to put butts in the seats because of his larger than life personality that will translate to being a scoring dynamo on the court and carrying that swag off the court into selling those tertiary shows on TWC.

The hiring of Scott and giving Nick that contract is plan $ in full effect. I don't mind Scott, but it really wasn't my number 1 choice. As for Swaggy, I understand that it was hometown discount and a good bargain at the time, but how can you lock-up a complementary player without really having a nucleus to add him to?

Their relationship is getting worse. Seems like Nick has stopped caring.

vasashi17 ..... on behalf of all of us wish you would post more. Come on there's life and then there's the Lakers even when they suck. It's all about knowing what your priorities should be. [IMG] Nice to hear from you. Don't be such a stranger.
