It was definitely constructive to have a performance like that in Lebron's presence. I know it's going to be a rough year, but I'm excited to see this group of kids make some real progress and develop over the course of the season. Really, the only thing left to do is find a way to unload Deng as soon as possible -- packaging Clarkson would be nice too since his contract is a bit hefty as well.

I never felt Farmar gave a damn about being a Laker.

I don't care if it comes off petty, that's why I don't want him back. If you don't understand and appreciate that you are on a historic franchise, I don't feel you deserve to wear the purple and gold again.

I just know when we do sign someone ill be good to move forward and focus on the pre season hype and actually seeing the real squad for real. If we signed jordan farmar after thinking about it hes gonna play the metta role at PG.

After playing in Europe and playing with Luke in the past, going to ucla and being able to relate to Lonzo... Play him 5 minutes a game. Have ingram and Clark bring the ball up for the other 9 minutes(assuming lonzo plays 34).

Random, but sort of related: I met Jordan a few years ago, super nice guy. His sister played college ball with my cousin. Of course I brought up that I was a Lakers fan and it tickled him to death, he seemed to really enjoy discussing those seasons from 07-10. In Kentucky, you don't expect to see too many Lakers who won championships, but that was pretty cool.

Lebron left with 6 mins left in the game, so he didn't get to see Zo taking over. But he did tweet after the game, so I'm sure his people told him what has happened.

They are going to try to make a run at the same players we're making a run at. Should be interesting.

I actually think they're setting up for a down season. I wouldn't be surprised if they're in the 4-6 range instead of the 1-4 range. There were a few weaknesses that became obvious with them if Kawhi doesn't do extraordinary things every night. They're going to try to shed everybody and then say "come play with Kawhi and Pop". Not a bad sales pitch at all.

    Simmons for the MLE!

yeah, color me terrified that SA is eyeing the same FAs as us, with more money, and kawhi and pop already in the fold.

    so...who are next year's second-tier guys?

I'm not terrified. I think it's a damn good battle though. Besides, there's a number of great FA options. Let's see what Magic and Pelinka have to offer. Let's see what these young kids have.

The incredible exposure in a major market like San Antonio is sure to sway guys like Lebron and George.
