Seems like he destined to be Brooklyn's overpay, not mad about it even though I'd like to have him.

not panicking, just trying to discern the plan. the only FA that we've spoken to that made much sense was hill. meanwhile, lots of sensible acquisitions are taking deals that we could have offered--several of which i would think a one-year big-money offer would have beaten (patterson, teodosic, even muscala are examples here).

That's not what I saw. I saw one of the few guys on our team that actually scored on fast breaks, knew how to cut to the hoop for easy buckets, played his a** off on defense setting a good example for the youth, and a teammate everyone seemed to love almost instantly.

The Wizards are about to pay 4/106 million dollars for Porter. Porter is better, but not by a ton. I'd say Brooklyn is still likely to pay a ton for him. He might still get that 4/80 million.

Made the extra pass too. That was a really big deal for our offense towards the end of the year. Crashed the glass... I'd love to keep Brewer around for next season.

Nets probably offering KCP exactly what they offered Porter.

I don't really get the question. Plenty of useful NBA bench players have played for many teams. He doesn't fit what every team needs, he's not a star, he's not young, but he does fit what we need in a veteran locker room guy that can still actually play on this team.

Exactly. When I started to look further into KCP, I was more excited about his defensive abilities/presence. Perhaps he will even take better and smarter shots when being fed by Lonzo. Who knows, but I totally agree: would like to have him on a one-year deal, but if it doesn't work out, I won't lose any sleep.

Believe it or not, no I wouldn't really beat myself up to get him at this stage. I think honestly that a 1/17 million dollar deal is fair for him. If we could get a 2nd rounder for Brewer, I might make he deal because KCP + 2nd would be good, but I'm also not going to trip over myself either to get KCP. I think someone (Brooklyn) is likely to throw 4/way too much money at him and that's okay with me. We've been down that road before.

Portland, eh? So New York is about to take back some horrendous long-term contracts and a pick? Would they be interested in Deng perhaps?

No, I don't think I would. KCP isn't that great, he's not much different than Clarkson, he's just best available is all.
