ESPN article saying he's been traded says they have to move a few players (trade, rescind offers, and/or cut). So yeah, it'll be awhile for them to flip those players to create some space.

FROM ESPN Article: Boston would now need a series of transactions to create cap space for Gordon Hayward. The C Bags would have to pull the qualifying offer on Kelly Olynyk, renounce free agents Jonas Jerebko, James Young, Gerald Green and waive the contracts of Jordan Mickey and Demetrius Jackson (or trade). The C Bags would be left with $27.6M in room and likely need to move the contract of Terry Rozier or Marcus Smart. Trading Rozier would have the C Bags short $1M of a max salary a lot.

Genuinely I will take one of their role players for a 2nd rounder. Rozier is last on my list.

The problem I bet is that Boston would like to trade one of their assets and get back a pick too. For instance, I bet they'd love to trade Crowder and get back a 1st which technically should be a possibility, but if I'm another team why the eff would I help you get Gordon Hayward? Crowder makes the most sense to move anyway: same position, long-term contract, and a decent player.

I could see them moving Bradley, but what return? Bradley is expiring. Anyone who takes him on should ask for a pick with him even though Bradley is a solid player.

I'd love for the Lakers to be the other team that helped them get Hayward.

I think it's going to happen anyway, so why not take the opportunity to get some of the really good young players they're expelling to make room.

That's, what, the second or third time someone pointed out that Rondo is very interested in the Lakers and not the other way around? I like that I'm reading that. It tells me 1) Rondo wanting to come here means he's probably more likely to capitulate to things and 2) we're not sold on him and that we're exhausting other options first. That's a good sign.

He's a better basketball player than Metta though at this stage. Interesting comparison though.

    Much better.

Let's not forget dude played pretty well in the playoffs and Bulls may have been in the ECF if not for his injury.

If he wasn't such a douchebag he'd be a no brainer.

Whoa. I wouldn't mind that. I've been hearing the Hawks are looking for a trade instead of a buy-out since Crawford is owed a lot of money still on his deal. The Hawks were unwilling to let him go unless he gave up a lot of his 20-ish million.

Well he could give up 10-ish million and we could still give him a solid amount of our cap. Use the rest of the cash on Rondo if we want to.

edit for those two lazy to click: Veteran guard Jamal Crawford's preference would be to join rookie Lonzo Ball in the backcourt with the Lakers if he can get bought out of his contract, a source told The Undefeated. With his family based in Los Angeles and a solid relationship already in place with Ball, the current Los Angeles Clippers guard would like to sign as a free agent with the Lakers if he were bought out of his contract by the Atlanta Hawks after an expected multi-team trade that is expected to send Danilo Gallinari to the Clippers. The Lakers have strong interest in signing Crawford as well, a source said, and have the money to offer a respectable contract. Crawford could possibly start at shooting guard for the Lakers and be a big help as a mentor and shot maker for the assist creating Ball.
