    We also have the ability to stretch and waive Deng, if need be; or attach a Clarkson like asset to dump his contract. That will require A.) taking on an expiring this year, though, B.) or not taking any salary back at all...

    Deng probably gets stretched next year if hes not traded up to that date .

    After thinking about it, it would be dumb to trade Clarkson just for a one year rental on Hill.. Has to be Brewer who IMO has solid value at only 6 mill.

    I think the deal w/Hill gets done and Rondo is an afterthought. He's nothing more than a "fallback" option right now.

    He was absolutely beloved here in San Antonio. I still remember how furious a lot of Spurs fans were when they traded him to Indiana. Obviously nobody knew Leonard would develop into a superstar, but he was a very solid player for the Spurs and has gotten even better in his other stops.

    I still remember Hill battling with Kobe when he was a rookie. He didn't back down.

    Lakers need to lock up Hill before:

    a) denver finds a taker for faried and others to clear cap room
    b) Hayward decision (in case he goes to Miami then Utah could come back and offer Hill big $)
    c) Magic decides he wants to offer Rondo $20M for 1 year and "pass" on George Hill because Rondo is an "old school" guy and is "tougher"
