Man.. We really need a Vet Combo Guard who can shoot. Hill is much better than I thought we could do this offseason.. Fingers crossed.

    My scenario:

Hill signs this year for our full cap.

Hill re-signs next year for whatever we can afford after our two Max FAs to get a ring and play with his friend PG13 as our 6th man once we dump Deng and Clarkson.

    same

it would really suck to get excited over potentially landing hill only for him to sign elsewhere, leaving rondo to sign in LA

My gut is telling me something is about to go down. There is just a blitz of Lakers news coming out. We're interested in McLemore and Iggy...and both end up signing elsewhere, then all of a sudden we are getting meetings with Rondo, Waiters and now Hill.

Us wanting to dump Deng is the NBA's worst kept secret and now the Brazilian blur gets dumped to create even more cap space for Phoenix to absorb a salary dump.

To top it off, Zo is planning to sign his rookie contract today and till he does, there is a 120% cap hold that affects our ability to offer the most money possible to FAs right now.

This is all linked in some manner. I would be happy to get either Rondo or Hill on a one year deal...but I would be ecstatic to rid that Deng contract. I'm hoping something pops off today, but it definitely looks like the Lakers are working on something big here.

This is the first player I've heard us linked to that actually excites me. I'm not getting my hopes up, but I would love to see him here.

Man, the day I decided to lay off Lakers a bit and enjoy the 4 day weekend THIS happens and now I'm back here.

George was looking for a big pay day this offseason and Utah kind of messed that up with getting Rubio. Markets pretty dried up and there are few teams that need a point guard. New York could use him but they are a mess. I'd give them all available cap space we have if thats what needed to make it work for one year. Absolutely PERFECT fit.

I have a good feeling about this actually happening because we haven't been attached to every free agent like other years.

    Do it Magic Rob!

For sure.. If we can get Hill. I would expect the Lakers to look to dump Deng & Clarkson ASAP.

I would look to drop Brewer as well, free up enough cap to maybe give that $ to Young for a year. I know brewer does well for the young guys but as bball palyer he isn't very good IMO.
