Not a great shooter unfortunately, but I liked what I saw from him in the tournament. Tough, good defender, and very athletic.
and cheap talent!!!! You need that is you are going to sign a bunch of stars. It's awesome feeling like we have a very solid scouting team. Gone are the days of drafting guys like: Sam Jacobson, Toby Bailey, John Celestand, Marcus Douthit, Von Wafer, Cheikh Samb, Crittenton, Yue, Chinemelu Elonu, Derrick Character, Darius Morris, Goudelock, Ater Majok, Sacre, etc, etc. Our drafting history compared to recent years is pretty embarrassing really.
Very, very interesting you guy. He tested among the elite at the Combine. I'd like to see what sort of deal he got. He's a completely blank slate type of athlete who has shown flashes as a passer, slasher, defender, even as a shooter at times. I like it.
Jamal Crawford light is what I read on him, was interested from highlights. IF him and harte are better defensively, Clarkson is done for.
Being from South Carolina, I'm very familiar with Dozier. Have watched him play since he was a kid until now. Very long athlete at 6'6. Was a point guard his entire career until this past season where he played off the ball more. Elite defender with great basketball IQ and instincts. Needs to develop a consistent jump shot. If he sticks he and Lonzo make for a lethal backcourt in transition.
The biggest question mark is Dozier's shooting. He checks the box in every other area needed to play in this league. The question is will our franchise be patient enough to allow him to develop because his ceiling is high. Could be a Shaun Livingston type player for us down the road.
Dozier will have (and provide competition) to make it... Clarkson, Hart, Nwada (who is comparable) and the vet Brewer (?). Maybe if Clarkson is dealt he has a sliver. I do like his skills, you had me at IQ and instincts which Clarkson is questionable at. Always to have good options so Dozier can be one.
He has an uphill battle making the team but I will definitely be pulling for him. I agree that he has a lot of upside
