5 and 10 for the 1? I don't think it's a bad idea at all. I mean, it's stupid for the Kings, but that only add plausibility.
ford, per usual, is blowing some smoke with the story's title here (of course it's an option--that's not news). i do think his insight regarding media smokescreens is useful though, as he's no doubt been tricked numerous times. there's no advantage for the lakers to broadcast their plans here. there is an advantage to having everyone else unsure of your plans. i may make an exception if you hold the #1 pick, but even that, i don't think it's great strategy. boston hasn't come out and said they'll take fultz yet, and i'll be surprised if ainge does make such a statement too far ahead of the draft.
Mouthpiece speaks! If you're too lazy to click, he says Ball has not secured the pick. The Lakers want to see him and Josh Jackson and Markelle Fultz more closely, hopefully in a workout with other players. One-on-one work doesn't help Ball much. He also says Fultz, Jackson, and Ball are all more highly valued to the Lakers than Fox. Tatum was not mentioned.
...difficult to gauge a pass first player's ability by himself. Ball's intangibles are showcased only when he has teammates on the floor to set up.
Then this sounds like the Lakers, who have brains and eyes, aren't sold on what Ball does on the court with four other guys.
Ingram's longer and taller than Tatum. Tatum is more of a scorer too, but they would definitely play similar positions. I don't think Tatum is capable of playing SG unlike Josh Jackson which may take him out of the running for a fit for our team... Still, Tatum is a solid player. I keep coming back to Rudy Gay as the comp. Not bad.
...or they're doing their due diligence as they should on other prospects like Jackson and Fox. I'd think that it would be Ball. We'll know next week soon enough.
Yeah I mean it's not like Ding said they were blown away by anyone else either. They saw Jackson and they're hoping to talk to Fultz. Fox is sort of an afterthought now which is the right call I think. I like Fox, but he's not on the same level as the other guys. Ultimately I think Ball is still the right choice, but I'll trust what they do.
It seems that they are leaning toward Lonzo but he didn't do anything to keep them from considering other players.
"L.A. Lakers Not Entirely Sold on Lonzo Ball, Holding out Hope for Markelle Fultz" Lol, if they're holding out hope for Fultz then wouldn't you want to talk up Lonzo to tempt Boston into taking him? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
