In all the games I've seen since his high school years and UCLA, I don't think I've ever seen a look on his face that differs from what you see at his Lakers workout. I'm a fan of this guy and hope the best for him even if he doesn't end up on the Lakers. But I am of the view that the Lakers take him.

There have been too many draft prospects that you can analyze and determine if they are athletic enough, or have a good stroke, or whatever the conclusion. But they end up being busts. Frankly they are a dime a dozen. What distinguishes the good ones is their will to be the best, relentless competitiveness, confidence, maturity and leadership. After all, our favorite basketball players, Magic, Kobe, Bird, Jordan, etc. have those qualities and that's why they dominated and that's why we like them. I think those mental components are more important and make the true difference. It is why Isaiah Thomas can even compete in this league, and that includes back in the days of the original I.T. on the Pistons. Lonzo has that and this team needs a ball handler that has those qualities regardless of how his shot looks.

Here's a video of all the pick and roll attempts that Lonzo had last season. One thing to note on his low volume is that the offense doesn't want the pick and roll ball handler taking the shot.

Getting to the point where I'd be pretty upset if we passed on Ball.

Damn. I am impressed with Ball in his interview. He is sure of himself, confident, none of that "um" "uh.." "um..." when he replied like most people would have. All in for Ball.

And looked everyone in the eyes. First sign of someone who knows who he is and has manners. Not like Jordan Clarkson or Julius Randle. Looking at invisible birds and talking like they got marbles in their mouff.
