    Good to hear, especially the shooting off the dribble assessments/drills.

    We know he can pass and command the floor but there are certain aspects of his shooting (i.e. shooting going to his right, pullups, floaters,etc.) that we really aren't sure he has yet or can shoot it effectively doing those things.

    Lonzo isn't a star until he shows that on the basketball court in the NBA.

    I'm a fan of his, but if he's not the best player when the Lakers complete their evaluations on these players then don't take him.

    I don't want them taking Lonzo just because he's a high profile college star. Take him if he's the best player on the board.

    Not entirely true. Lonzo just drew a crowd the Lakers haven't seen since Kobe. Something about the kid is polarizing and newsworthy. That is an essential part of being a star.

    If he fails in the NBA, even his failure will be newsworthy. If Dennis Smith Jr. fails, nobody is going to talk about it.

    What's a Pick Worth?
    There are many ways to evaluate the value of the picks in a draft. Typically, it's a career value of the players selected at a given position. It turns out that if you're a team with an asset, you can probably find at least one team to make a bad deal - for them (and good for you).

    Here's one chart of value:

    According to this chart, these deals were good for the team trading DOWN:
    Wizards 2015
    Bulls 2014
    Magic 2014
    Jazz 2013
    C Bags 2013
    Jazz 2013

    These deals were good for the team trading UP:
    None.

    These deals are all but neutral:
    Kings 2016

    Here's another chart:

    a. One awesome thing about this is that it shows that there's not a considerable drop off from 1-5 in terms of getting a star or a solid player.
    b. According to this, the following deals were good for the team trading DOWN:
    Kings 2016
    Wizards 2015
    Bulls 2014
    Magic 2014
    Jazz 2013
    Boston 2013
    Jazz 2013

    These are general expectancies. Now, we can look at which players were actually selected:

    Kings 2016:
    Chriss for Papagiannis and Labissiere.
    -probably too close to call now, but Chriss and Labissiere look pretty close.

    Wizards 2015:
    Kelly Oubre for Jerian Grant and two picks. Grants is probably the better player, but they're close.

    Bulls 2014
    16, 19, 2nd to 11
    Doug McDermott for Jusuf Nurkic, Gary Harris, and a 2nd rounder. I think McDermott is a fine player, but Nurkic and Harris are a better haul. I think Radicevic was the 2nd rounder. He hasn't played yet.

    Magic 2014
    Elfrid Payton vs. Dario Saric is a good showdown. Payton so far, but Saric just played a very good rookie season. This first rounder is what will be the #3 pick in this draft?

    Jazz 2013
    Trey Burke for Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng. Trading down is much better here.

    Boston 2013
    Kelly Olynyk for Lucas Noguiera, Cleanthony Early, and Russ Smith. Boston wins this one by trading up.

    Jazz 2013

    I agree completely. Hopefully they had him doing some mid-range pull-ups. That'll be his toughest spot.

    Pretty sure most big stars have IT. If he's a star with the media and after his pretty much Great one year college career then he's been doing real GOOD. Poise included. I'll go out on a limb and play psychologist ..... and say great chance the kid has IT. Boom!!
