Are we doing this thinking if we wait a year he could change his mind?
Had Kobe ask the mother trucker, yo... are you coming here or not cause if so we got to play things a certain way.

My 49ers are in the same position with Kirk Cousins.. we passed on Trubisky at two so that tells me it still seems like Kirk will come here or in 2019.

This thing with George should be way easier cause there's no franchise tags lol.

I don't wait because so many things could happen - we might be only a little bit better next year if lots of things go wrong. Having George under contract gives us that little extra advantage.

Even more important to rid the team of Deng and Moz deals ... sorry DLo fans but he might help facilitate such a dream

You don't trade DAR to dump a salary.

Russell will have little impact on whether or not we can get Klay Thompson in FA. It's the same basic situation with Randle this summer. The contracts that will matter are Jordan Clarkson, Luol Deng, and Timofey Mozgov.

I agree and to get rid of them you may need to use Russell or Randle

I much rather dump Randle now with Deng or Moz then pay him an extension.

Especially with the offensive strategy the team will run we need a big that can shoot. Kinda like Ibaka or maybe overpay Milsap on a shorter deal

    I completely disagree with you.

I have no desire to dump any of our young players to move those contracts. I have very little desire to sign one a FA this summer. Randle can be had for a fraction of the cost, even with an extension than a guy like Milsap or Ibaka (assuming either of them are eager to join a 20 win team).

If you want to dump those contracts, you attach the #28 pick or future protected picks.

"Mr. Cavalier" again with our hard won, not to be seen again probably in a long time very high 1st round and very well chosen draft picks. Just can't bring yourself even to wait for the trade deadline to see what Randle has this season, since the new regime has taken over the team and in the best shape no doubt of his entire life.

I'm usually optimist prime, but sorry y'all...Klay ain't coming, Warriors can go on to win the next four year after this one and he can then have 6 rings, could be very doable. Maybe at that point he joins us for another chip to call it a career :)

Like Real said, there's nobody WORTH signing, and George should slap himself if he MAKES us trade for him. That would be pure greed to handicap the team you'll be joining.

My 45 win projection was a year early. It was really meant for 2017/18.

GS can't pay all of Curry, Durant, Green, and Klay what they are worth, so Klay might be odd man out.

That and knowing Walton, and hopefully PG joining, might be enough to entice Klay.

People say that, but why can't they? I mean, they are making so much money up there right now. They will continue to do so for the next few years with all those guys making deep playoff runs. I know people want to think they can't keep all four because it gives them hope of stealing one of them, but in all honesty, if I had to bet money on it, I bet they keep all 4. They will have no problem filling in the roster with ring-chasing vets around them.

It's not about wanting to keep them, it's how they can keep them.

Cap space, max money, will all play into this.

They've got max deals going to Steph and Durant this summer. They've got to find a way to keep Livingston and Iguodala around. In two years they'll be looking at that bad*** repeater tax that has scared away just about everyone.

We'll see. It's possible they're the exception to the rule and they decide to pay out like crazy. Either way I'm standing there waiting for Klay's FA with open arms. I was a little tongue in cheek any who because why would he come here? We need to look drastically different in 2018 to draw someone like Klay.
