Most trades and draft picks were kept quiet. That is one thing Mitch was great at. We'll see if Magic and Pelinka are the same.

Knowing Magic and Pelinka were at the UK / UCLA game and saw, up close, Fox outplay Ball could mean Fox is the pick. And we'd be fine. But Josh Jackson? Gonna be a really good player, but not the right fit for what we need.

We need a real pg, I don't feel like dlo is that. Ball fits exactly what we need. I think knowing Luke Walton's dad is a huge Lonzo lover he'll keep harping his son to tell him to draft Ball. Magic just compared Lonzo to himself, that doesn't sound like a front office not looking at him as a star? This screams bull s**t

hahahahaha, fools. The media are hacks, even the honest ones. Media is one the lowest forms of insects in society. Bunch of liars and manipulating pieces of s***. Lonzo Ball will be a Laker come draft time. Unless the Lakers trade the pick for a star.

I think this latest report is pure BS. It does give me a glimmer of hope that De'Aaron Fox will be a Laker come draft day, but I'm still about 90% sure Ball will be the pick. I could totally see Magic and Rob being concerned with Lavar, though. The man is nuts - anyone who believes he will calm down once Lonzo is drafted is naive (looking at you, Adam Silver). I know this has been said countless times, but he may very well seriously cost his son millions of bucks.

I remember last year when Buddy Hield was gonna be a Laker. It was glorious.

Not buying it. Again, I'm not all in on Ball, but I do not want Josh Jackson. He doesn't check either box for me when drafting at #2, which are best player available, or fills biggest need. He doesn't fill a need since we have Ingram, and he's not the best player available. Plus they can be worried about Lavar, but let's be honest, a real concern is Jackson violating the conditions of his whole court thing going on right now from when he kicked a woman's car door in while having an argument with her after following her out to the parking lot from wherever they were. Lavar Ball is not a legit concern, but to me a guy with anger issues toward women is. I'm going to be pissed if we take Jackson.

Not to mention that he'd be our shooting guard...who can't shoot. We don't have a stretch 4. We can't get away with having our sg unable to hit from distance either.

    what's a jordan schultz?

anyway, i don't buy the strong statement. i do think the lakers are open than the fanbase seems to be, though. i'm down. there's a reason for the pre-draft process. let it play out and be open for lots of possibilities on draft night, from drafting ball to trading the pick.

One more very important quality. He keeps the game at the right pace. Separates great point guards from good ones.We will get many more easy buckets. Offense will be smoother.

I'm all in on Ball, but if we don't draft him then I'm hoping for a trade down to get more of those DMorey type assets.

Ball is our guy and will have the biggest and quickest NBA impact. Pace changes everything.

I've repeated it multiple times now, but that's been my stance as well in a way. I'm not all in on Ball in that if the Lakers aren't sold on him I trust them. IF that's the case though I'm all for trading down a couple spots to take Fox if that's their guy and getting an asset along the way. Get the guy you want with the 3rd-5th pick, plus something else from that team that wants Ball rather than just taking Fox or Tatum or whoever early and getting nothing extra. Sort of like taking a guy in the late first round on a guaranteed contract vs taking him in the 2nd round when he'd have still been available. Make the smartest business decision.
