We already know Lonzo is going to the league and will be a top pick. Gelo will be lucky to be drafted unless he becomes Charles Barkley or loses 40 pounds. Melo is the interesting one, last read he was 6'3" or 6'4". Wonder if he's done growing or will ultimately hit 6'6" like his bros. the kid just from highlights has great handles and killer range. Like his dad said he could be the best of three
Man all this ball hype...if dude isnt a duplicate of magic off the bat ill be disappointed....so 18/7/7 nothing less, krl?
Lol. That's something Lavar would say and everyone would be trippin. I more so meant that's what he'd say to your state line haha.
Ball: 36-24-36 I would really do a lot of work to see about moving the pick - are more picks available for the 2? Can the 2 help us land a solid player and dump salary? Can it land us an all-star? Boston does what it wants, and we react. It's not a worry from my point of view.
If the FO believes the pick lands us a star, we aren't moving the pick. Two solid players do not equal a star. Nor does a solid player and a salary dump.
I think if fultz fall to 2, i do think we'll have alot of options. For sure phi and sac would want fultz. If phi i do fultz for #3 and better of phi or our 18' 1st. If sac id do 2/28/moz for 5/10/kuofus. I think phi n sac trade could still net us ball, less chance with sac trade since phi or pho might take ball
I understand that we want a sure thing all Star right away, however with gs and clev running the West and East, why are we in a rush to trade youth and talent for players that are older and already reached their ceiling. I say roll the dice and continue to groom with accountability to our young guys including the two picks in this draft. When those super teams start to decline we'll be the champion contenders due to all our young talent barely hitting their primes
Theres plenty of examples of teams trading down n still getting their guy while obtaining more assets. Phi did it 3 yrs ago, they drafted Payton even though MCW just came off a ROY season, forcing Orl hand to trade up only 1 spot but they gave phi back their future 1st from a prior trade and Phi now has what seems to be the better player as well in Saric
Building only through youth doesn't guarantee success, i know most will use gsw as example but that is rare, hell okc and por (oden/roy/aldridge) looked like future dynasty in the making
I agree with that claim, but I don't think that's how building a roster works. Some players come with pros and cons that don't show up immediately. Big Baby and Kendrick Perkins weren't good players, but they made Boston an exceptionally good team. LO wasn't an all-star, but he made us a championship team with the pieces around him. I'm not convinced that any one player in this draft is a likely star, but the odds are that there are a few stars in the draft (I hope that makes sense, statistically). So, suppose Ball has a 40% chance of being a star, but we could also trade down to get two players who would be salary-controlled for five years and are above average NBA players - that might be the better move depending upon pieces. Dropping a huge salary to open up space to sign players around George and an emerging start or two (BI and, say, DAR), would be better than taking a chance on Ball.
thats odd considering his shooting weakness.....I dont see how he's better than Fultz, unless its those "intangible" like winning attitude type, since Fultz criticism seems to be he doesn't care bout winning as long as he get his, I can understand the thought Fox could be better than Ball due to the speed/handles/defense
I've been seeing and hearing this stuff everywhere. I'm really wondering what I'm missing. The kid has wonderful tools and seems like a hard worker, but his offense is not going to come easily. He shot 37% from deep in college, but he didn't exactly exhibit much NBA range and his shot form is the definition of inconsistency. I like Jackson, but not that much. Not enough to go crazy over. edit- wait what? I thought you posted a tweet about Josh Jackson... my bad. Fox is not the best guard in this draft.
