I'm talking strictly about people on the site. No one here hates Ball.

Exactly. I don't think anyone will be upset if Ball is our guy. But there should be room for analysis and comparing him to other prospects.

So you're saying people outside SoCal on this site aren't as impressed/like ball compared to the ones on this site that DO live in socal?

If your answer is yes, I'm still not suprised lol.

Gonna be fun to see what type of progress the young bucks can make, especially if we keep the #2 pick to see what we have in Randle once and for all...and how much progress Russell makes to see if he's a piece worth keeping with George on the roster.

Crap forgot about depreciation once the lottery is over .... down to 3rd pick already. That's the problem with consumer Lakers electronics these days.

I couldn't finish the podcast. The guy, David Nurse, knows his stuff but I never felt he would give me a true, unbiased answer. Works too closely with UCLA and was giving short, quick standard answers to the questions Eric and his co-host were asking.

Didn't learn or gain any insight I didn't already know. On the contrary the LakerFilmRoom podcast with Mike Schmitz was great and in depth. There are also a few other NBA Draft podcasts out there that I have listened to that were also better.

I was with him when he called Ball a game-changer, but then he kept talking and called Leaf a game-changer and I was like "oh, he works for UCLA, duh". :D

Leaf is a good player but I'm not sold he's an NBA game changer. He's slotted as a late 1st in most places and I'd be surprised if he went sooner. Should have a decent NBA career but limited upside.

The LFR/DE podcast was fantastic though. If you have doubts on Ball and his fit here, take a listen to that podcast. Schmitz also makes a case for Fox who he likes a lot but even he admits the fit is not as strong.

Lonzo Ball California High School Championship game.

The youngest Ball kid (LaMelo) impressed me, considering he was a Freshman starting in a championship game.

What would the gameplan be if the Cbags messed around to try to get assets from the Lakers by taking Lonzo only to offer him in trade to the Lakers for #2 + 28?

You don't deal with the C Bags in this draft. If they want Lonzo they can have him. The gap between 1-5 in this draft is not enough to worry about. If the C Bags take Ball, you take Fultz or trade down with another team to take Fox/Jackson/Tatum and get something in return. Way too risky a gamble on the C Bags part to draft Ball if they don't really want him though, the Lakers aren't going to play that, and you don't gamble like that with the #1 pick. IF for some reason they did that and the Lakers didn't bite and then Fultz ended up being a Towns type talent showing separation from the pack in year one, the C Bags would be kicking themselves.

Yeah. We shouldn't deal with Boston. I take Fultz and keep it moving.

It's just a dumb gamble for Boston... Why bother? The kid doesn't want to be there, there's kids of equal or greater value available, and they're obviously far from actually being competitive.

This "Boston might be tricky" debate is just something to pass along time while we wait for the draft. They won't take that chance and if they do, we gladly take Fultz or Fox or Jackson and drive merrily off into the sunset while Boston deals with a kid who doesn't want to be there and is not a great fit.

Wow that was fun! How crazy to have 3 brothers from freshman to junior to senior Lonzo on a championship HS team, and yeah I agree the youngest it didn't phase him at all. And you know what, aside from a couple mini expressions from Jelo (?) and in spite of the personality of their dad ..... none of these kids seem to be chest thumping / primal screaming / look at me what I just did types of players. Like they've been there before. The hand held video edgy and aggressively edited with some modern feel to it .... got to say Lavar may have the last laugh with this story and their brand if all 3 of his kids can keep getting better and better and better.

In dead seriousness Showtime part deux would be far better run by Ball. You know Magic and Luke and Rob and Kobe all want to see that kind of running and exquisite passing type of game played heading toward our next championship. That's who Ball is and what it allows and encourages from the rest of his talented teammates.
