Doesn't directly relate to us, but the negative buzz around the Knicks is insane! Players are just completely uninterested in that team. Wild.

This is probably pretty similar to how FAs were viewing the Lakers with Jim Buss at the helm.

as much as i think the knicks are a dumpster fire, kevin seraphin's take (on pretty much anything) is not important to me.

It's just an example. There's already talk about Porzingis being unhappy, obviously the Carmelo thing is real, and of course while I'm not fan of the way Rose has turned out he's high tailing it out of there. It's an issue.

And when the other giant market is a dumpster fire, that strengths our bargaining position as a destination organization.

Scoreboard Jeanie in the team executive competition with her ex. Phil's gone senile with his Triange obsession.

So I just did some math... cap goes up to 121 mill next season(even further for 18-19') , with Brewers/Tarik's/(20 mill combined) contract off the books next year, we'll probably end up having 60 million give or take for 18-19 season and that's with Deng and Moz still on the books. Only one that would need to possibly be re-signed is Julius Randle depending if he stays or is traded.

Nobody can save the Knicks. Lenny Wilkens couldn't do it, Isiah Thomas couldn't do it, Larry Brown couldn't do it, Mike D'Antoni couldn't do it, Fish couldn't do it, Phil couldn't do it. Not even Pat Riley couldn save the Knicks even if he had the same role Phil has right now if Pat stayed with the Knicks. The real problem is James Dolan. He needs to sell the team.

The cap in 2017/2018 is set at 102 million.

The next year isn't determined yet.

As things stand, assuming we waive our rights to Corey Brewer and Tarik Black (keeping Nwaba at 1.7 ish million) and including Randle's 12.7ish million dollar cap hold, we'll have 79.6ish million on the books next summer. If the salary cap holds at 102 million, we'll have only 32.4 million dollars to spend which means only one max deal available.

Moving Mozgov and Deng is essential to the Lakers making big moves next summer. Without the Mozgov and Deng contracts, the Lakers would have over 57 million dollars to spend. Max contracts go from 24.5ish to 29ish to 34ish million. If they can clear MozDeng they could get to two max deals relatively easily. The hard part is finding MozDeng takers without taking on long-term contracts or giving up the kids.

That's why I'd be so open to trading that #28 pick. Not only can that pick potentially help us shed salary, but it's going to have a guaranteed a salary next summer worth a couple million which would also impact our available cash.

Teague/Holiday, Eric Gordon/Courtney Lee, Blake Griffin/Millsap/Ibaka are intriguing.
