Lavar is not putting pressure on anybody in the NBA. This isn't high school where he can get the coach fired. He can talk all he wants but I'm sure Magic or someone from Lakers will have a talk with him when he asks why Mozgov, Nance and Zubac are playing a lot of mins.
All I'm saying is if we draft Lonzo and he starts making an impact then everyone better step the eff up too
Took me two days, but I finally caught up with this thread. After reading everything, I lean towards Ball, but wouldn't be mad if we got Fox instead.
Yeah 30 points in 32 minutes from clearly a "pale skinned", slow, no talent teammate. Kinda what Lavar said. What "real talent" on the Lakers? Their best shooter by far at present is Russell and you think he sucks. I like Lonzo a lot but you're a little over the top with selling on the dude.
Like seeing Trevon Bluiett on the list of guys coming in. I'm from Cincinnati, wife is a UC alum...what he did to us in the Crosstown Shootout this year (in a loss...suck it X) is illegal in 38 states. Kid can flat out shoot.
No but I'm all in on the kid. He's a game changer for the Lakers. People can knock his jumper and defense but you don't find a talented floor leader like this very often.
^This to me is a fair and accurate assessment of Ball. Sometimes fans go a bit overboard with what they WANT to see and not whats really in front of them. I think Ball can help this Lakers team. I think he can be a very good player. I don't see the Kidd comparison a ton either though. Im a bit worried that he only made several jumpshots within the 3pt line. But I guess the mid range game is dead in todays NBA anyway.
I have been watching Ball a lot this season and really like what I see. The pace he gets his team to play at is perfect. Easy shots but not out of control. Most of the time his passes are right in the sweet spot. That alone brings everyone's percentages up just a tad. Less turnovers, fewer fast breaks given up, better team defense. I love Fox and wish we could have both but I'm in the corner of Ball being the perfect fit for us. I have wanted him to be a Laker from the first minute of watching him play. And no.. Im not his Dad...lol
I also would like to see the young guns plus one together this season to see who buys in before trading rhem.. George is the only one I really want to add and we can do that after the season.
Ball has been playing point guard position since he was in diapers. While dlo is adapting to PG in the pros. There's a big difference between the two as far as lead guard position goes. Dlo brings the ball up very slow and is turnover proned. When he plays off the ball (dlo) he's way more effective. He's a sg that can make great passes at times. While Ball is an pg that has mastered that position at only 19 years old.
