Really loving the Fox love. I put something up on the NBA Draft Reddit a few weeks back about he might be the best fit (outside of Fultz) for L.A. The DLo to SG run late in the season really piqued my interest in Fox. He and DLo could potentially become a Beverly/Harden type pairing (obviously they are a long way individually from those two). If Fox could just become a dependable catch and shoot threat, this offense could really open up with his addition, let alone what he brings from an individual man defense and energy/attitude perspective
Keeping the pick matters in the asset department. Nice piece in the bag they can use if they need too.
Disagree. He's a unique prospect, but the more I study him, the more I see Jason Kidd with a much better jumper (coming out of college, at least). He sees the floor so well and has that innate sense of timing & angles to find his teammates at the right time in the right place. Love watching the kid play. His funky shooting motion & lack of elite athleticism scare me, but I'd still love to see him in Luke's up-tempo system. I'm salivating at the thought of it, honestly.
i'd probably take ball over fox, but it's close for me. and as i've said before, i don't see kidd. he was so much better with the ball in his hands, imo. and so much better on defense. huge differences there, imo.
I should have been more clear. I see a lot of Kidd in Ball's offensive game. Kidd was lightyears ahead on D for sure.
I'm not sure I see Kidd coming out of college as "so much better with the ball in his hands" than Ball, but your point about the difference on D is huge. Kidd was a shut down defender on the wing and Ball is at this point servicable there at best.
I'd say he's an opportunistic defender. I think Ball will handle himself decently in one-on-one situations because of his size, but he's not Fox on that end let alone Kidd. Fultz is the same way.
Hmmm I think if there's one player the Lakers draft if they don't get Ball or skip on him then it's DeAaron Fox. He's long and sinewy and crafty. He's a longer and quicker more athletic Goran Dragic.
Mostly Fox's ability to penetrate and breakdown a defense. I've always been a huge fan of Dragic and wanted the Lakers to get him when the CP3 trade fell thru where Houston still wanted Pau
It's been proven that left handed players turn the ball over less than players with no hands. I'll leave now.
