the scouts were in unanimous agreement that towns was going to be a beast. i think minny may have even leaked the pick prior to any workouts. the arguments seemed to be mostly among folks like us.

there's no one in this draft like that. i suppose fultz has been the consensus #1 overall pick from start to finish, but you see a lot of scouts poking holes in his game. you saw very little of that with towns.

i think this draft is similar to the rest of that draft, though, with the top two guards being project about like russell was. so yeah, the 2015 draft, minus towns.

who's going to play porzingis and booker? who's going to play okafor?

not to poke a hornet's nest, but okafor and ball have some similarities:

played a big role on a winning team in the national spotlight.
wanted to play for the lakers.
had some obvious holes in their game.
    were beloved by laker fans.
    had crazy-a** dads.

just sayin', watch us get #2 and draft fox or something.

Yeah and was much faster than Lonzo on the court, though Pops had the racist in him to call out the white guys for being too slow and the reason they lost. Some here looked at Lonzo and wondered where was the star, alpha, "winner" personality to know when to step up and put the team on his back. Too nonchalant in appearance on the floor. Was it his hamstring?

Suns on the verge of officially being the 2nd worst team, so now I can say let's go Lakers! Let's win it out today and tomorrow!

Finishing 6-0 AND keeping our '17/'19 picks would be an incredibly positive way for Magic/Rob/Luke & Co to end the season. Then go to work over the summer. If we get our picks I am going out and getting majorly pickled. Especially if it's 1 or 2.

I hope GSW rests everyone as the seeding is long over. Otherwise we can still beat them, like the last time we were playing good ball early this season.

To be fair I did the draft simulator with us at the #2 15 times and we only kept the pick once, so maybe being at #3 will be better

You can do the draft simulator 1000x and being at #1 or #2 will still be better than #3

Interesting move. Bridges could end up a Top 10 pick right now, but definitely has a shot to go in the lottery. Nigel Hayes made this move a few years ago and I'm sure has major regrets.

#1 is a stretch. Fultz is still probably the top prospect.

Jackson is an interesting prospect, but not one we would need and use a Top 3 pick on, imo.

He's a good all around player, score, defend, athletic. But he's not really elite at any one thing. I've read for his size, his hands are small and doesn't have good length for his height, so I'm not sure how that would translate defensively at the NBA level.

Also, he's had attitude problems that drew red flags from many draft boards.

Draft simulator is useless at predicting future results. I'm sure you know that, but when the time comes, we will have a 45% chance regardless of whether or not that simulator had us winning or losing the pick 100 times in a row.

It is in the basketball gods hands now. We improved our record from last year while giving ourselves a shot for a top 3 pick. We also got a late first with the Lou Will trade and I believe we have our second round pick as well? Regardless of the pick outcome, you saw flashes of greatness from each of our young core. Next season and beyond will be about making those flashes happen on a more consistent basis. Hopefully this was the last tank season for good. We stuck by during the bad times, I believe this young core will now lead us to the good times! Let's beat the freaking Warriors!

Question is do we get good Karma for what changes were made in the FO. We've had good luck on our lotto picks so far and to be fair, we seem to have picked well though how well hasn't fully played out yet.

At 3rd place our total chances are around 47% of a top 3 and at 2nd place they were at 49%. I am much happier with us finishing 6-0 or 5-1 and ending on a positive and dropping to 3rd in the lotto. It's good Karma and we'll be rewarded. Now lets go get the Spurs and really finish well. Also if we beat the Spurs, I win the pool. Sort of, I had 24-30 (27 avg) :p

I would love to see us get a top 3 and the Suns end up with like the 7th for their blatant tanking.

Lol what I do? Man I'm not psychic, I'm not gonna be like "we're going to win 25 games!", I gave a prediction scale based on many factors. Closer to 20 wins if we suffered from the injury bug, closer to 30 wins if we were relatively healthy. Not my fault that averages out to 25 and I'm close to correct, I wasn't even thinking of that when I said it. :D I was wrong anyway, we were super healthy compared to previous years and we still sucked. I didn't foresee us trading Lou, and sitting Deng's rotting corpse on the bench, and completely shutting down Moz, this season was crazy unpredictable. In the end though, with the front office upheaval, ton of young players doing most of the actual playing, I think Luke getting 9-10 wins more than last season is impressive.
