I'm gonna trade the pick for PG13, if it is number 1, then they have to swallow Deng with it lol. Perfect world would be Deng Randle or JC, 1st pick for PG13, Pacers pick

To clarify, Kobe did say he has shot with his daughters, but as far as playing in a game or anything like that... Not since his 60 pts game.

Its still a long time, but its not like he hasn't picked up a basketball.

I really don't want to have to wait another 2-4 years for another kid to development. As some have already said if we're fortunate enough to keep our pick and regardless of its position I look to trade it by itself or in a package.

Plus he had mentored some players in the offseason. I guess he doesn't count that because it's probably just drills.

F U John Wall. And Luke for not taking our Randle when he singlehandedly destroyed any chance of winning that game.

Duke freshman Harry Giles is headed to the NBA, the school announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot-10 Giles, who missed two seasons in high school because of a pair of torn ACLs, sat out the first 11 games this year because of a third knee injury. He was ranked as the No. 1 player in the freshman class by ESPN.

Duke spokesman Cory Walton says Giles plans to hire an agent.

"Playing in the NBA has been my goal for as long as I can remember, and I'm so excited to take the next step in that journey," Giles said in a statement issued through the school. "My time at Duke has been a dream come true."

I genuinely like him, but those injuries are... yikes.

If he's there at #27 I'm veeeeery intrigued. I need 5 different doctors to examine him before I draft him, but the kid has a ton of talent if he can stay on a court. Honestly what I fear here is that his agent told him: try to get paid now before you get hurt again.

As always, DraftExpress is the best name in the scouting business for guys like us. I encourage you to click on that link and see why this guy is my #3 over Josh Jackson. Tatum is more of a scorer than anything else and his fit on our team is definitely an awkward one, but I believe he's the 3rd best player in this draft. I started off by comparing him to Rudy Gay, but if he continues to find ways to be effective other than scoring he may end up being more like Granger or Pierce: a scoring wing that also finds ways to compete.

Randle in one stretch late in the game last night did the following in sequence.

    1) Mishandled a pass from Russell where had he caught it was right next to the hoop
    2) Because he mishandled the pass it led to a turnover
    3) But instead of a turnover, JC got the ball back and gave it back to Randle for the basket
    4) Randle missed the hook shot
    5) Wizards got the rebound and Randle fouled the guy trying to make up for his mishaps
    6) Wizards where in the Bonus so the foul by Randle costs us two pts because they made both FTs

My goodness, the Tank is Real

Not sure if that's tanking, or Randle's synapses firing at their normal speed.

I doubt any team takes him in the top 10. His talent is elite, but tough break (no pun intended) on the injury front. Wishing him the best, but 3 knee injuries = not looking good.

Giles needs to stay in school 2 more years to prove his body can withstand anything. He should go very late. At 27th we aren't throwing anything major away unless there's someone else still there that looks any good. He's gonna get a minimum rookie contract and if he lasts the length of it then, bonus.

obviously, if the scouts love someone (like nance), then go with them. but giles is certainly worth a look in the late first, even with the injuries. he's had some bad ones, but none that have incredibly poor long-term prognosis, right? acl tears aren't the sports death sentence they were 30 years ago. late firsts are low-risk, financially. if someone with his upside is there, i'm not at all opposed to taking him.

the sixers are still being lauded for taking embiid third overall, and his injuries were (and continue to be, imo) of the very scary variety.

Depends on who else is available in that spot I guess. I'd say the front office has earned some respect on the draft front and somehow I'm trusting their decisions. Used to be draft choices were irrelevant bench padders, but we've actually gotten some nice players in the last first and early second round in recent years.
