The Lakers have mastered the Art of Tanking.

We will see if our Master Plan works on lottery night.

Can be masters if you don't have full autonomy of your pick

That 4th qtr stat padding made a few of our guys look better than they really were amd like i said our team is severely lacking shooters, the 2nd unit has NO one that can shoot well from perimiter

Missed this one, but down 30 to the Clips at the half? Wow, guess I didn't miss much. Glad to see the kids getting lots of minutes though. Should help them determine better who to keep.

So yesterday I went to the gym and missed the majority of the game. Looking at Chook's highlights though, it looks like the second unit was mainly responsible for the massive half-time lead. The starters got off rough and then they didn't exactly dig into the lead when they came back, but Luke still went with a totally different lineup to start the 2nd half.

    Interesting.

If it makes you feel better, Ramona said this is the kind of game that costs people jobs.

Clarkson is all I can say. I can't remember ever seeing someone be -33 after the first half but JC found a way to do it.

Who is getting fired though? Luke? No. We are running out of people to fire. Firing Stu Lantz would probably help. :D

But in all honesty, are we talking trades? Who all of a sudden became available for trade? Ingram and Zu are probably off limits. Is Russell on the block now...a mere one game after a 40 point outburst? I'm not doubting what you're saying, but I think Ramona is sort of just talking out of her a**.

Last night was the worst game of the season to watch for me. Just horrible. Glad I'm going out of town and won't be watching for a while. I need a break after that embarrassment.

I think Russell, Randle, Clarkson, and basically everybody else on the team has been on the table since the moment Magic and Rob took over. I don't think Russell's 40 point game saved him from that list just as I don't think Randle's triple double saved him or Clarkson's 30 point game saved him. Ingram and Zubac are probably the most valuable assets to Magic and Rob, but if anything those big nights from those three guys probably push them out the door faster when you see games like last night's.

If we saw triple doubles and 30-40 point games more often, then trading would be a moot point.

In Russell's postgame, he mentioned they had a let-up or loss of focus, or whatever the hell he said due to playing do well against Cleveland. I mean, WTF?!?! It's very clear that their jobs are on the line and they're being closely scrutinized. Not sure if he was speaking about himself, a couple of guys, or most of the team, but jeez, how can that happen? I understand 1-2 games every few weeks, but the veyr next game after a good game you lose focus.

Seriously. What planet are these kids on? How do you just fart away all that positive momentum so quickly? I don't get it.

I said it in another thread and others have said it as well, they feel like a good performance gives them the "right" to coast for a couple games.

And that's why you gotta get rid of some of them and bring in players with the right mindset.

They just don't have the mentality to bring it constantly. If they did we wouldn't be here harping about consistency. It sucks watching other young players put up consistent numbers with less talent.
