The NBA is a game of motivation. The team and Moz looked good through 20 games. Injuries broke the back of a mentally fragile young team. We are playing like a team that has given up on the playoffs. Good news is Zu looks like a very good center for years to come. Develop the young guys, maybe pick up a good free agent. Next year when we are competing for a playoff spot Moz will be a good back up/insurance policy.. albeit a fairly pricy one. This is the spot we are in. Moz gets his money regardless at this point so whether he is starting or not really does not matter. Maybe in a few years he will be coaching and we will all instantly forgive his bad contract..lol

May be injuries/surgeries got the best out of him...He's glued to the floor. Cannot rebound or block like a couple years ago. He used to be a legit 10+7 guy with just over 1 BPG in 20-24 mins. A decent role player. Good FT%, dunking, some blocking, P&R. FTs and mid range still look solid, but his D and his jump...I dunno. Let's see. It is sad that our highest payed guys (Moz, Deng) don't contribute they way we thought they would.

While I wouldn't call Mozgov a legit 10-7-1 guy as technically he's never actually averaged that statline for a season - he has come close twice though - I certainly expected more than this. I'm sure the Lakers had to as well. Walton pushed for him. Shaw probably did too as he was fairly solid in their time together in Denver. Then the FO gave him that contract. You don't do all that if your expectations are this. It really is disappointing that he couldn't even be an average starting C.

I mean we already sort of knew that... but okay.

I wish it said "Deng shut down forever" but it's fine.

Similar to what Cleveland did, but we threw $64 million at him. Oh well that dead horse has been beaten enough.

While i have shown my dislike of Moz gm, this tragedy should be placed on our talent scouts and luke/shaw, anyone with common sense could see clev was playing better w/o him, whatever they said bout his injuries or what not was purely lip service so they wouldnt hurt his fa value and our guys fell for it hook line and sinker....Deng at least i understand because he had a resurgence in Mia and has had a respectable career

Finally even his biggest apologists have come to the conclusion that he sucks.

That's probably coming soon too. What's the point if you have now set the precedent that we will shut down healthy guys, you know?

Yes but one more shut down of a healthy player runs the risk of [IMG] figuring out we are tanking on purpose.

Apologists? If you're talking about people who say Mozgov is an average Center, I'm not sure they're apologists. I'd call us realists.

Yeah; I don't see any change in attitude toward Mozgov of late - except to see he's really not the problem.

If you mean an average C who doesn't come close in production to his payment, we agree.

BTW I want to add...the average C in the NBA does suck these days. Mozgov is averaging 7 and 5, is very slow on defense, can't block shots or defend pick and rolls...that might be considered average given the lack of talented Cs...

but thats nothing to write home about.
