Give up the pick you don't know instead of the beast you know.

Agreed.....i never buy into "this next guy so much better" than what we already have, i tend to queation krl and his statement of how godly a back court of smith/monk could be, i dont see it, 2 guard under 6'3" isnt going to be that dominant, i see bos with it/bradley or mccollum/lilliard, i see great stats but not dominat

If you can bring back George or Butler you do it. If it's Russell or Ingram then so be it and I like both of them.

I'm still a Russell fan but if Indy insisted on him instead of the pick for George I don't see us passing on it.

The pick is so key; it could give us so much flexibility.

Given the Butler and Paul or both going to be unhappy this summer, you have 2 targets to go after this summer.

I am kind of tired of losing and making Tank Threads.

That's actually a good point. No other Laker age 21 or younger even attempted close to his amount of threes last season. Farmar was the closest at 307 age 21 and the next after that is Russell's running total this year at 291, but he crushed the record last year with 370 attempts. By contrast Kobe at 19 only attempted 220 threes, Vujacic at 21 only attempted 172 threes, Ingram's running total is next at 159 threes.

As of today D'Angelo has attempted 661 threes which is by far the most of any Laker in their first two seasons. He's made 234 which is also by far the most of any Laker in their first two seasons. D'Angelo ranks 7th and 8th all time in 3PT% behind Kobe's rookie year and Jordan Farmar's sophomore year. There's four others who rank above him in percentage, but it's a bunch of stiffs in Ebanks, Morris, Lue, and Medvedenko. The four of them were 14/31 combined in the respective seasons that got them on the list. So Russell is more like 3rd and 4th in percentage because Kobe and Jordan took a fairly significant amount. Kobe's rookie year he took 136 threes in 1103 minutes while Russell took 370 in 2259 minutes.

would not give up russell for a top pick in this draft. maybe i look stupid later, but right now, i'd decline. thus, if indy said, we'll take russell or the top 3 pick, i'd say: have the top 3 pick.

If Indy wanted the pick or DAR, give them the pick. If we get Paul George, we are in win now mode and he will be an expiring. We will need known commodities and not have to wait another couple years for another rookie to develop.

DAR and Randle just met at center court with the 76'ers. Apparently they are captains.

You don't just willy nilly trade your captain.

I only mentioned the idea of those 2 if the Lakers got the #3 pick. Everyone here knows I want Ball.

But to respond to your comment, yes let's keep being perennial 20 game winners. While the 2 teams you mentioned is #3 in the East Boston 42-25 and Portland 28-36 fighting for an 8th seed (44-38 last season).

Sorry to burst your bubble but the Lakers need to start competing again and learn how to win. They're not going to make 30 game improvement and win 50 games next season with this core.

No one on this team is untouchable. I don't get the feeling Magic and Pelinka are looking to spend another 3 or 4 years developing a guy. If we get the pick I think there is a real good chance we trade it. I also see at least one of Russell, Ingram, and Randle being gone next year.

2 small guards arent going to change that...we might get better but in the long run, we'll end up like the blazers even if those 2 you want end up like lilliars/mccullum pairing

Pops Ball wants $1 Billion shoe deal for his 3 sons.

    http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18901427/lavar-ball-seeks-combined-1-billion-shoe-deal-three-sons

He also said in his prime he could beat Michael Jordan.

“Back in my heyday, I would kill Michael Jordan one-on-one,” he told Josh Peter of USA TODAY Sports.

“I would just back (Jordan) in and lift him off the ground and call a foul every time he fouls me when I do a jump hook to the right or the left. He cannot stop me one-on-one. He better make every shot ’cause he can’t go around me. He’s not fast enough. And he can only make so many shots outside before I make every bucket under the rim.”

LaVar’s growing list of brash declarations also included his son Lonzo being better than two-time MVP Stephen Curry and his sons being better than Jordan at some point.

“Now in a game of five-on-five, (Jordan) might do some damage,” Ball added. “But I’m going to do some damage too.”

LaVar Ball averaged 2.2 points per game for Washington State in 1987-88. Not sure if this was the heyday he was speaking about.

I'm so glad the league doesn't drug test parents.
