Lose the pick this year - Lose 2019 1st rounder

Get the pick this year - Get 2019 1st rounder back and give 2 second round picks instead

That's some grade A gambling right there...

What was Mitch thinking with this one?

Amazing...how after 30-40 games Laker fans start enjoying wins of their opponents and root to lose for the pick.lol

Seems like 2nd worst record is now rather expected than unexpected.

We are gaining traction with the tanking.

BTW the Lakers are absolutely tanking. When you trade away your best player and start playing guys like Nwaba and Corey Brewer, Tyler Ennis etc. you absolutely are tanking. You might not tell the players to go out and lose on purpose but literally, you make sure they have no choice.

We're 63 games in now, and I didn't buy in on the tank until about 55 games in. I don't recall if people wanted to tank that early or not, as the 8th seed wasn't out of reach if we pulled our heads out of our collective butts and played to our potential. Or so we thought.

no one wants to tank but I think we're forced into circumstances beyond our control like our players are not NBA ready from top to bottom. We can only hope that players like Deng and Mozgov pan out. KMN

I mean if we end up with a top 3 pick, then great. Another bigtime asset is coming our way. If the pick is not in the top 3, chances are its not going to be a superstar so it hurts less...unless well...down the road we are proven wrong in 5 years.

Other than that...this team has not made any significant progress this season. Its not really much better than last year's team. Its still the same sh***y defense, its still waves of effortless going through the motions, the players are equally comfortable with losing this season...

I mean at some point...Clarkson, Randle, Russell etc. are 3 years in this league, they are considered veterans at that point in my book. Yet that has not translated into any victories. Then its time to blow this **** up. We can't always excuse with age. Young age might be the culprit when you lose close games or don't execute late in games, but young age is not a reason to not run back on defense or show a lack of effort rebounding etc...

some of the biggest flaws in our game...is not related to young age. Its related to lack of effort/heart, lack of competitiveness etc. Next season they MUST win AT LEAST 35 games, actually 40. if they don't, they should not be on this team anymore.

    Right.

I think most of us reluctantly came around to the thought of tanking here in the last few weeks

Trading Lou made it too obvious. We went from the one of best benches in the league to one of the worst, overnight. And our starters still suck so there's a pretty good chance we may not win any of the remaining games.

55.8% odds. I'll be biting my nails, but that's the best we can do because Brooklyn is worse than us; hard to believe, huh?

Josh Jackson looked good Saturday. I see him more as a Andrew Wiggins than anyone else. If the Lakers can stay in the top 3..they are getting a great piece.

that nash would ever play another actual basketball game? that kobe wouldn't tear an achilles? that dwight howard wouldn't leave in FA? lots of bad things had to happen in order for these picks to end up this high. tbh, the smart money was on mitch at the time. had some of the above not happened, these would all have been later firsts.

anyway, water under the bridge. at least he protected them for a long time...something i didn't even see as that necessary at the time...neither did bkn's management team...yeesh...
